Re: The Firestorm - my history 1999-2011
I'm sure there is loads of info on here if you search mate. Basically you can fit a vfr800 rear by machining some spacers then moving the shock a couple of inches to the right then making a new rear header pipe to go round the shock. Sorry if that's a bit short but I'm chilling in the sun with loads ...

Re: mille front wheel
I have a Mille front wheel in my 996 front end, can't remember if I had to do anything extra to make it fit since its that long ago. Ok so I hear you saying what good is that to me since you are running Brembo brakes from the 996 too, well if there was no other modifications needed this also opens ...

Re: Given a VTR1000 50th Anniversary
Mac, I am very tempted to swap the rearsets for the standard pegs - my 40 year old knees have had too much abuse in the past. I am doing a trackday at Snetterton on 22nd October, will see how it goes on track and see if I am used to it by then. Looking forward to getting on track, I think the slow ...

Re: My 2 into 1 project
Not sure if http://www.jacexhausts.co.uk still have a pattern pipe but I used to run one years ago and sold a fair few to others. The plus points were weight saving, nice looks and a big improvement on bottom end power. The negative points were a lack of top end power and slightly harder to set up ...

Re: Info re full exhaust systems
My mate at JACexhausts tends to charge £400 for a set of headers, I actually picked up a set of Moriwaki ones to use as a starting point. After asking around there were little or no takers so we gave it up as a bad job and I simply let Chris have them for his bike in exchange for the JAC website b ...

Re: R1 tailed streetfighter project
I intend to fit the battery in the same place a standard R1. I have to fit a smaller since the conversion eats into the standard space.

Re: Front End's
Stick a VTR wheel in with the 96 Blade front end, you will feel it well saggy since the Blade was a lot lighter than the storm so get a set of Ohlins linear springs for about £70 to transform the handling. As said before you need to fit Spondon Blade/Storm bar risers that cost £75 from Spondon rac ...

Re: light weight battery
I need to seriously look into new smaller batteries when I complete the R1 rear end conversion, I have a much smaller area to shoe horn a battery in and don't want to compromise by welding a box in place to house it. Not started looking yet so please let me know if you come accross anything, does ...
