hi yall. First off unless you correct your speedo, you will always see 100mph=5000rpm,whatever you do with the gearing,cos the speedo is driven from the gearbox, not the front wheel. HI there, If you fit a 15 tooth front sprocket, and a 42 rear (1992 fire blade)you will drop the gearing about 10%. 15 tooth alone will give about 8.5%, but I use both on my two storms, as it keeps the chain length correct. The cheapskate propstand is a good idea, and I have used it a lot over the years, but PLEASE TIE THE FRONT BRAKE LEVER BACK, or it may roll forward, then sh1t happens.

Hi Granty Carb icing is not a problem, as the carbs have water heating , as standard. As far as the suspension goes, you have preload adjusters, and rebound damper adjustments, and if you stiffen it all up on the adjusters, they aint perfect,but they aint too bad,we get by ok. THE BAFFLE IS PROBABLY THERE TO CUT INTAKE NOISE ,IN CASE YOU CAN HEAR THE BIKE RUNNING,
THE BAFFLE IN THE AIRBOX LID IS ONLY SCREWED ON, AND I HAVE A BMC FILTER THAT DOES NOT HAVE THE BAFFLE, IT RUNS JUST FINE
