Re: they are

Here is my confession for you :D CBRs, R1, GSXRs - they are good bikes - and IMHO CBR still is easiest to go fast on. And, I had a VERY short go (3 km) on GSXR. Yes, new one. That's bike that blows your lid off, it is unbeleivably powerful and fast. But. Do 3000 km in 6 days on any of these bikes a...

Re: buying advie

Thanks guys... So some general questions: ave miles on a tank (the older ones?) - Is 100 miles normal to reserve light, more, less? How many miles out of back tyres. I'm a fan of Bridgestone 020s - can you get about 6k miles out of them on a firestorm? And i'm sure you guys will have some other 'pe...

Mine used to get hot, but only after a real thrash in summer.
But it dont get any where near as hot as my NC30 does. Have to leave it outside to cool down before putting in the garage. The NC's frame gets un-touchable its that hot.

ouch, that'd be fun.
yep 180/55 is the correct size for the VTR.

Had an RZ250R that had 90/90 front and rear, that was awfull, soon got a 110/80 on the back it was much better.

doesnt feel that small to be honest. Just compact.
I tended to sit as close to the tank on the storm any way, prefer to be over the front.
Yes it is real, and was sparkly and clean til the ride home in the rain.

My mate had a TLR many many many moons ago. Was a crash damaged bike, bloke lent to his mate, who parked it in a ditch! 500 miles on the clock. Interesting to note that panels were cheaper from Suzuki than from breakers. Battery cost around £100 if i remember. He did it up and kept it for all of 3 ...

Bled my brakes at weekend, took 5 mins using a cheap and chearfull brake bleeding kit, the one that has a one way valve in it.
Bung it on bleed nipple, crack it open and pump away on brake lever, keeping the level topped up in master cylinder of course.

could be that the speedo sender is stuffed.
Mine died, approx £100 to get a new one.
Bit of a bugger to fit.
There is a section in the firestorm manual on checking it.
