Re: THE OLD CAM CHAIN TENSIONERS..

I've had my storm just over ten years now, I changed my CCT's for manual ones over 9 years ago (APE's), I have done 30K+ miles since I changed them. I guess they have needed to be tweeked maybe twice in that time. If I bought another storm, it would be the second mod I would do after an R1 reg/rec. ...

Re: Anyone played with Velocity Stacks?

I've been running 2 short stacks for a few years now, I have lowered the gearing (15/44) and it seems to help it run better near the top of the rev range

Re: It's been on the Dyno, and...

Stack- just bought a spare pair on E-Blag, so I have the choice of two shorts. two longs or one of each. I've not seen any forum comments re using two shorts, so didn't bother dynoing that option. Let's face it, you didn't buy a vee twin for the all-on top end power, more the way it's delivered and...

Re: Want to cry, my bike is knackered

As I'm sad and bored I just had alook at the service manual for the TLR. Repairing the gearbox looks a bit of a tw@. The engine has to come out, all ancilleries stripped off and then the cases split vertically. Have you got a copy of the service manual? if not pm me your address and i'll post you a ...

Hi I've had manual CCT's for about 30,000 miles and I tend to adjust them about every 8-10,000 miles this tends to be about every 12mths or so. Without stripping the cam covers off it really can only be done by sound and feel. I have had my storm approx 5 yrs and its cam chain sounds are quite famil...

When I was reading up on manual tensioners a few years ago, the Kawasaki mob were having problems way beyond that which afflicts the firestorm. It was reading their experiences with APE's that made me fit them. I've done about 25,000 miles since and have had no problems.
