The stopper. Mod doesn't prevent the CCT going further out, it only limits its inward travel to a preset position which won't let the chain go so loose it will jump a tooth. Ref filling upright or on the stand, it doesn't really matter so long as you always do it the same way, then your numbers will be consistent. so far this corona sh!t and working from home has resulted in me working more hours and feeling very ashamed at the rest of humanity …. as a result I don't have much time or enthusiasm for projects :(

are you concerned that the petrol has caused the friction plates to swell?

its not something I have come across, but it sounds like you had a lot of petrol in there, so it is a posibility
