Re: what have you done to your "bike" today

Thanks guys. Very useful, I'm definatley going to try this.

My bike already has reduced gearing and its much more practical on the road.

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today

Hi Benny

I noticed a mention of the flapper being removed on one of the PS III programmes. What is it? and how do I remove it?
I presume its there to regulate the ram-air effect?

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today

Just fitted a Power Commander III USB to my ancient SP1. Just wanted to be sure the fueling was right rather than improve performance. Loaded the program I thought was closest to my setup and took it for a test ride. Well it must have been way off 'cus its now going like a train. Bloody brilliant :D...

Re: Firestorm vs. SP2

Hi I've had both. The Firestorm was my first bike for 30 odd years and it was just the job to get back into bikes. I've had two SP1s and quite honestly I think the SP is the better tool. I was put off for ages by stories about the SP being really uncomfortable. What I found was that its actually (fo...

Re: The red one, the other red one and the yellow one.

Hi Mike

Only just seen your original post - not been around much lately.
Pity you had to part with the red'un. That was a real work of art.

Glad to see the yellow one is coming along nicely.

Re: plastics

Bought my SP1 a few months ago. It was a track bike and has been dropped on RHS. Decided not to buy new plastics and set to work with soldering iron and plastic coat hanger. The result is a serviceable, but not too pretty close up. Since I'm only insured third party and there's a fair chance of me d...

Re: Bloody Ins Companies

I'm also with e-bike. They can be annoying and inflexible at times and some of their marketing stuff is misleading. However I did make a claim on them when I wrote off my last SP1 and they were pretty good, paying me what I bought the bike for a couple of years previous. Its also a pain in the aris ...

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today

Finally got my SP-1 on the road. Bought it in November as a track bike. Fitted a few bits: indicators, lights etc. and it passed the MOT today.
So, I now have a VTR on the road for the first time in about 2 years.

Re: SP1 on E-Bay

Very nice but (even if i could afford it) I wouldn't want to use it, not just because I might wreck it, but also just using it would reduce the value. On the other hand I bought mine for £1800 as an ex track bike with scrapes/cracks in the fairing. I'm just going to patch it up, so that way I won't...
