Whats going on with your valves? Bought my Storm last year with 4k miles on it. It now has 20k, and I've been ringing its neck since the day I bought it. Checked the valves last week, and they were perfect. In fact there were still hone marks on the cam's. Put in APE tensioners too, and the old CCT'...

Hi, I had my forks done by the suspension guru here in Portland - new springs and a valve. After proper set up, it made all the difference in the world. Rear shock is still stock. Would be nice to change, but I am looking for a cheap one. GP Suspension in Portland, Or. Dave Hodges is your guy. Cost ...

APE tensioner

Hello All, I've scanned all the threads. What is the verdict on manual tensioners. I have done a valve adjust, have the manual tensioners, and am ready to install. Questions are: has anybody figured out how to tighten them correctly? how often should they be adjusted? is there any easy method for ge...

Well, I lived in the UK for about five years - so I guess I'm qualified to make a comparison :D Thinking about moving to Mars. Less gravity there certainly should help the tensile quality of Honda CCT spring steel.

Anyway - back to the conversation; Dell, how are you doing on your solution?

Hi Dell, and All,

How are we doing on this solution?
Are you going to have something (parts) that you can ship to the land of the free and home of the brave so I can put it in myself?

having problems with the air / fuel (pilot) screw

Ok, I'm having problems with this. I don't see a brass cross hatched screw under the carbs. What I see is the float bowl drain screw, the idle adjust knob, and then a cylindrical post point pointing down, somewhere in the middle of the carb body. I assumed the cross hatched screw was inside this pos...

Thanks Pete,

I actually found some threads on this, and so realized what I was looking at when looking at the carbs. Pretty straightforward, but does anybody have a picture of the tool? I'm thinking I can make one, rather than wait for Honda to ship it in from who knows where.

anybody know how to change the air / fuel mixture?

Hello all,

know this is a stupid question (again). I'm running too lean (popping on de-cel - no leaks in exhaust) and want to make my mixture a little richer.

Any sage advice?

Thanks,

Jon

Well guys, I'll tell ya... the reason it took me a few days to send a thank you note is that an hour after reading your reply, my exhaust was in five pieces, and an hour after that I was heading to Idaho with the fast group. I'm back now, of course, and still smiling. BTW if you have the means - I h...

Thank you Gentlemen,

advice worked like a charm. No more backfiring (and no new clamps needed :? )

Why is my Firestorm backfiring?

Hello all, have put about 15,000 miles on my SuperHawk (live in the US) this summer. Bought it used, so now it has about 20,000 miles on it. On the last trip (2,100 miles - no motorways!!!) it started to backfire upon deceleration, or really, any time I back off of the throttle. It started as an int...

finer points of teflon tape

Hi again - sent a note to your mailbox BTW.

So when you say to zip the lever down, do you mean with the bleeder valves open (so any trapped air can work its way out) or with the valves closed, and everything buttoned up?

Brakes again - Bleeder valve leaks?

Hello all, I'm getting the spongy feeling in the front brakes that everybody complains about. Put in EBC green pads, and Galfer steel lines. Brakes are good for about a day, but then go spongy, and I am able to get some air bubbles when I bleed them. Has anybody heard of the bleeder valve going bad?...
