Re: Cam timing

Yep, Finally got the picture posted. Rads are currently off so got quite a good look, ran a steel rule across the top, can just see the mark above the rule, so looking at about 2 mm high. Yes I was thinking cam chain stretch, was hopping not to have to replace it as they are not cheap, pockets are e...

Cam timing

On the way for its MOT rattle and clunking engine locked up, 3 mile ride almost to the MOT centre, 3 mile ride back in recovery truck. I failed front CCT, 2 X new exhaust valves later. Just got the cams back on, unable to exactly line up the markings level with the top of the cylinder head, FE about...

Now I’m confused!
Just found an online manual that also quote 23Nm but it states the bolts are 8mm, the ones I have are 6mm. I’m guessing the torque should be 10-12NM?
Any help who be appreciated.

CCT mounting bolts torque

Can any one help?
What is the CCT mounting bolts torque setting?
The Haynes manual quotes 23Nm, I have just sheared one of the bolts off whilst tightening to this setting.

The larger tank was in 2000 on the F1 along with new clocks.
Not sure if there were any other changes.

If you don’t have a descent spark plug socket will the rubber insert.
Then use a short length of hose pipe that the spark plug end fits in and use that to initially screw the spark plug in. Can also be used for taking them out. I found an old washing machine hose was perfect.

World panic

A bear, a lion and a chicken meet.

The bear says “If I roar in the forest, the entire forest shivers with fear”

The lion says “If I roar in the jungle, the entire jungle shivers with fear”

The chicken says “Big deal, I only have to cough and the entire planet shits itself”
