Re: Black Storm A417 30/09

Not been on here for a while but that could have been me! Black with red writing? I'd been to Cotswold Outdoor at Ciren and was on my way back and filtered though the traffic round the RAB and then had to squeeze past with the solid white lines on the single carriageway. Def went that day as I bough...

Re: What tyres?

I've got Dunlop RoadSmarts on mine - good durability, 5k out of a rear, brilliant grip in the dry but particularly good in the wet too. Usually around £170 pair fitted. I too was in the Mosel, Nurburgring region in the middle of May (but not with Richy) and with a new back tyre on I too have no sig...

Re: Back in Blighty

It was the standing joke of the entire trip but nearly all the roads we used (once getting there on the motorway) were twisty A and B style roads so all of them were gagging for the break anyway! Comments such as; 'that coffee mug your drinking out of is bigger than your fuel tank!!' Funny though, m...

Re: Mornin' all

Hi Sonkut, Welcome to the forum - sounds like you've got an interesting project ahead!! Make sure you do the CCT's (cam chain tensioners) as the Honda ones have a habit of letting go and f**king the engine. Have a look in the tech section for advice on everything including the cct's and also 'rider ...

Back in Blighty

Oldest bike on the tour by 6 years (R '98) - never missed a beat! 6 fabulous days riding around Europe. Stayed in Luxembourg and visited Belgium, Germany and France = 1927miles. Did the Nurburgring - had a 'moment' where I went 'green laning' thank God for the run off and not Armco like most of the ...

Re: Just been pulled by a traffic cop

Reading the info on the govt website provided I'd say YES it is. The reason it's vague is because they want us all to have Bugatti Veyron Air brake number plates - but that's only for bikes that are post 51 plates.

Re: Just been pulled by a traffic cop

lettering isnt standard, thats wot he pulled me up on, but gunna get another made up with as big a lettering as possible on a 8x6 plate, coz the legal one looks stupid, and gonna do me back tire damage (It looks that big       ) If you fit a cable to it and link it to ...

Re: Just been pulled by a traffic cop

The law on number plate size didn't change before 2001 so if your bike is pre 51 plate as long as you have correct font and letter size I was of the thought you can have an 8X6 plate as this allows for both of those??

My MOT tester thinks the same too - thoughts??

Re: Solihull to exmouth tuesday 26th

For you from Solihull, I'd consider something like, down the A34 but then head across to Swindon on A420, then down the A346 ( I think, its A346) from Swindon, directly south across part of Salisbury Plain (nice fast road, but watch for camera vans), then if you need to cut down on time then go West...

Re: Insurance, again

I had a bit of a row over excess, I refuse to pay £500 excess on a bike that really is only worth £1700 on a nice sunny day with its best polish on!!

Each one i phoned I said I didn't want more than £250xs - it worked - my £102 3rd P f&t is a good price for me!!!
