Re: VTR running temperature
No I haven't, its full and clean though. It was replaced by the dealer about four months ago. I pulled a spark plug out after a 70km ride on the weekend, its looked like this http://www.stobosh.com/plug.jpg It looks ok to me, perhaps a little lean but not terribly. Mind you this is after riding of ...

Re: VTR running temperature
Thanks for the replies. I do have a post 01 model ( 03 to be exact). Its possible the previous owner put a jet kit in, he did a lot of stuff to the bike. My other bike, an R6 runs around the 80 mark, as does my mates R1, 95 just seemed hot to me for normal ( less than 25 degrees) weather ? Thanks ...

VTR running temperature
Hi guys, Can I get some feedback on what temperature your VTR runs at on average ? I realise that different conditions will yield different results, but i've noticed that my VTR runs, at the very minimum, above 95 degrees. Usually 103 ish if im stopped and then it might cool to 97 if i'm running and ...

Resetting the TPS and ixing the choke cable
Hi Guys, Was putting in my mods on the weekend to my CCTs and thought i'd measure the TPS sensor while i had access to see how close it was to 500 ohms...it was 800. So i thought I'd adjust it next weekend, was just wondering if there is a post or writeup somewhere on how to do that ? Also I read ...

Re: +2 rearsprocket
I swear once upon a time it did, but i can't see it now ? either way, if you do some mathemagics and work it out (stock speed - custom speed)/Stock speed and multiply by 100 you'll get the percentage error. For some reason it varies along the RPM range for reasons unknown to me (4.4 -> 4.6 %). BUT ...

Re: +2 rearsprocket
That's the one, i was just about the suggest the gearing commander website. It has the stock setting in there and you can fiddle with custom set ups to see the difference. I've always wondered though, i would of thought with an engine with some much torque as opposed to power that it would benefit ...

Re: "Locking off the cct" - what does that mean
Hi there, I have been reading that post and all the posts on all the possibly mods. I'm almost sick to death about reading about CCTs so i'm just about ready to get into it. It was just quite hard to understand what people where talking about when i hadn't actually seen the CCT before, the last ...

"Locking off the cct" - what does that mean
Hi Guys, New to the forum, picked up my 2003 VTR1000 just two days ago. In great nick but i've had to order another transponder key and will have to program that in as it only came with one. I've been reading through all the information on the CCT mods ( this one still has the stock ones, previous ...
