Re: Needed more blue on the bike!
Thanks guys, my lovely new shock is now irrevocably tainted with the association of Bigscabbymarty and some less than lovely images ![sick ](./images/smilies/sick.gif)

Re: Needed more blue on the bike!
Having given them my weight & usage (12 & a bit stone in riding kit), they specced me a 925lb. Static sag was spot on straight out of the box, so I haven't played with the spanner with the shock in situ yet. I was a bit concerned the spring rate was going to be too high, but initial impessio...

Silver one in Llanberis
Yesterday, Wednesday 11th July - silver with black cans coming from the Pass as I was sat at the temporary lights. A quick nod of recognition then off, disorientated by the yellow thing in the sky ![Confused :confused](./images/smilies/confused.gif)

Shock linkage not seized shock!
Ticking off the to-do list on the bike's nether regions and much to my surprise the shock link bits seem to have survived 13 years of indifference and appear to be in good nick - nuts & bolts came apart ok and it's all spinning smoothly. I want to get in and re-grease - will all the bits be reus...

Tis too bad, you'll all be passing by just down the road from me on your northernmost travels, but the back of my bike will still be in bits  Have fun! I'll drop by for a coffee then  We will have tony with us, we can do a drive by servicing if you provide hot drinks Much apprec...

Re: Rear wheel bearing hassle
Yup my mistake, of course it is the outer race that is still attached - the way it sits in the wheel makes it look impossible to drift out. Ta muchly for the tips - I shall start getting hot & cold with it. Haven't checked out gun bloke yet, sounds like my approach to spannering though..

Rear wheel bearing hassle
My non-driveside rear wheel bearing collapsed noisily but fortunately not dramatically without any seeming warning - looks like the 'dust' seal had distorted and been letting in crap to fester over the winter. Tried tapping it out and succeeded in pushing out the inner race and all the shrapnel that...

I went down the route of beefing up the bodywork & bodging some pannier rests - photos on this old thread:

Re: Squeeely cam chain
Thanks guys - particularly like the tubing tip TP. But any ideas why they should have tightened up now, after a year of running fine?
