Re: Scotland storm 18 --- photos and aftermath

[/quote] i think it was the best one yet, would only have been bettered if a) Edward hadn't had a mishap b) sunday had also been dry the location was epic. the gabi burgers were perfect. the campfire was the best focal point ever. the usual regulars were as much fun as ever. the new faces were all g...

Re: OP STORM SW Scotland Mk6, Aug 10th to 13th 2018

We get one of those white line markers, draw a line across the road, then it's a countdown and we all bugger off down the road as fast as possible The last one back buys the food and drinks for the rest At least I think that's how it's going to be this year ,🙂 you better bring plently of money then...

Re: back brake pads destroyed!!

Very interesting to hear what you have found. Not a brilliant idea though if you can reassemble the caliper out of alignment IMHO. As you say though, keep an eye on it, Chris. the 2 sides of the caliper are sealed with O rings and held together with M8 bolts but there are no locating pins so you ge...

Re: back brake pads destroyed!!

all rebuilt, bled and back in use, got some cheapo kyoto pads to see it the disc will clean up, it's not warped and as minimal scoreing so it may be OK, but it defo needs to be checked and re-checked to ensure it is Ok, I'll probably change the disc anyway along with the pads just to be on the safe ...

Wow those pads are messed up. Are you sure they are not Chinese copies. Even if neglected and worn to extremes the metal should't go like that.

Re: back brake pads destroyed!!

I'm not having a great year, 2 puntures so far, dropping the bike in the garage, my promptu stoppie, hitting t...

Re: back brake pads destroyed!!

Yes something very wrong indeed, possible culprits, are the push rod is incorrectly adjusted or the res is over filled I think there should be a small air gap The seals came out without much trouble a bit of 00 wire wool and the calipers will be good as new, rear dics looks straight it's just covered...

back brake pads destroyed!!

After my incident running into the Gixer 1000 I noticed my rear brake wasn’t working, now the RSV rear brake isn’t the greatest to start with but would at least hold in on an incline, but not anymore it was totally u/s, a quick visual inspection revealed the braided hose had parted company from the ...

Re: bad luck comes in 3's

Bloody hell, man, that's a bad triple right there. Take it out on the bike.... certainly a lesson learnt, and one you may want to take note of, the feeling of reaching for the brake lever only to find it not where it should be is not one I'd care to repeat, the radial M/C is a lovely thing as you k...

bad luck comes in 3's

Well they say bad luck comes in 3’s, I hope this is true because I think I’ve just had my 3. The first came when I managed to dropped the bike in the garage fitting the rear paddock stand, to get the wheels out for their new boots, so I’m putting the stand on the bobbins and realise my pushbike is i...
