What to do about this rust?

Well I was just gonna take everything off it and spray it in situ until I could be arsed to do it properly (powder coat) but got small amount by the bolts that attach it the frame, so it will be an off the bike job now...bugger! I'll stick photo's on hopefully tomorrow evening or Sunday at the lates...

Yes I am that lazy! Had a gpz1100a1 and painted the front subframe in black smooth hammerite to tart it up a bit...a year later leaving it outside all year round it looked exactly the same! Mind you...your rear frame is pretty damn rotten...the amount of effort to make yours look good again you migh...

Not got a plate in mine either but fell off a d1 bantam at literally 3mph on wet grass. Was being a right idiot so it served me right! Found out a month or so later when I moved to Coventry and couldn't sleep properly on my left hand side!

Today I have removed the left hand exhaust baffle after the right hand made a break for freedom on the way back from picking up some bits from tony's! Some tw@t had put a nut in which was rusted solid...cue the oxy and it didn't stand a chance! Now the pipes are loud enough to set off the neighbours...

"hammered" won't be the right finish mate, need the smooth one imho, I'm doing the subframe tomorrow so will let you know on the outcome! Also, get the rattle can, better finish unless you are a wizard with the brushes!

Mine are the same, plan to spray them this weekend as it happens! Gonna try the black route and see what they look like, benny did you laquer yours after the hammerite? Exhaust wrap and forks are the name of the game this bank holiday!

Both the M42 and M6 are well known to me for the tw@ts who move across the lanes to stop bikes filtering! The red one is mine, yeah its the PAIR system I didnt realise you could remove it! Midlands Workshop day

Afternoon all!
Just got back into the country, seems I have brought the weather with me! I won't be doing work to the bike for a bit so scratch brgs and clutch for me for the mo, but I'll be there for moral support and the ride afterwards!!

I did sign up for two bikes but can't make it, so if the wristbands turn up in the next few days I'm happy to send them on to someone if they need them? Such a shame, last years ride was amazing and was really looking forward to it! Ho hum, let me know if anyone needs a ticket and I'll post them on

I went with the red rim tape as well, but the thinner stuff. Tried it with standard width tape from halfrauds and it looked shite!

Mine was doing this today as well randomly, may be bad battery connection? Going to investigate tomorrow lunch, but yeah it may be water ingress (I did leave poor stormy outside last night and the cover is crap)
