Re: Main bearings?

Did he mention any test to confirm the problems? At £250 quid I'd be getting a new motor and swapping that.
Bugger!

Main bearings?

Since getting the bike back up to full power I've noticed a fairly severe vibration when the motor is under load. I can feel the vibration mainly in the pegs (fairly equally in both so not chain, plus that's brand new) and coming up through the tank. When its under load it feels a bit like a cement ...

Re: College CCT help

Ah Tray, don't be daft you didn't get anyone's back up, well maybe Beamish! Your product has helped out way to many people on this forum, me included, for anyone to really get the butt with you. I could see why you would get a bit fed up if you thought someone was trying muscle in on something, that...

Re: College CCT help

I think you've been a bit hard on the guy there Tray. As I'm in the final month of my engineering degree, I can fully understand your point that a correctly designed spring is the best solution. Unfortunately you won't get many marks for that. A lot of the time you end up doing totally pointless tas...

Re: Carb Vacuum Gauges

Carbtune kit has restrictors that fit in the main vac lines, think they must be a 0.5 or 1mm bore, reduces the fluctuation quite a bit.

Re: Still not running right

No this was definite combustion smoke, the hose came off about an hour after the smoke and sudden jump in revs. It must have been a blocked jet that's gradually got worse as the idle screw was well over half way and now is pretty much at its lowest setting. You were spot on with which hose though To...

Tell you what that's some tasty looking pipes, be interested to see what the middle pair look like on the bike.

Re: Still not running right

Right I think it's fixed! Haven't had chance to ride it yet as I managed to give myself a little bump on the head due to the bike deciding to have one last bit of drama, and haven't felt quite up to it yet! After my latest mishap with the chokes I bypassed these and put everything back together. It ...

Re: Bypassing Choke

Ideal thanks stratman, I did see your post and am keeping that in mind for a permanent solution currently watching a few bits on eBay so hoping I can get a cheap replacement that way first. The bike is doing my head in with poor quality fixings at the minute. I agree 40 for the kit is a joke!
Cheers

Bypassing Choke

It doesn't rain it pours!!! The bolt that screws in to the carb has sheared, while I was putting everything back together, is it possible to bolt the plunger in place until I can get my hands on a new cable assembly?

Cheers.

Re: Still not running right

Cheers Tony, I should perhaps point out that I'm a poor student so doing everything that's free first! Also I hope I haven't but if it looks like I've just ignored peoples advice this is again just me doing cheap stuff first! Also Tony what was your input on my queries regarding the possibilities yo...

Re: Still not running right

Think tank is ok. When I took the carbs apart there was a few bits of dirt in there but nothing to make me worry about the tank. Hoping choke and carb balance is all it is.
