Argh just been looking at the manual but only went as far as the fuel section.
Cheers for that

Re: Still not running right
Just been down and had a fiddle and attempt to balance the carbs. Found another problem the choke was getting trapped and the routing of the cable wasn't right. Should the cables go around the outside of the carbs? Just got a quick reading from the carb balancer and they were well off, rear cylinder...

Re: Still not running right
That was with the idle up a fair bit, I need to balance the carbs, but running on one was my first thought but I did the pipe check as Tony suggested. I think the plugs are probably 2 years old, I pulled the rear one the other day and it looked clean and healthy they are NGK riddys.

Re: Still not running right
Oh good! It's always sounded a little bit like that do you think the carb cleaner has cleared all the gunk off the valves?
I'm not liking how this is looking.

Re: Still not running right
Just been out on it again to try and clear the carbs. Midrange is slightly better but at full throttle nothing happens! On the run it managed to drink 12 litres in less than 60 miles. It tried stalling when coming to a stop again so I'll have to tweak the idle back up again. One thing that is worryi...

Re: Still not running right
Hi Chris, noted I'll just stick to the one thread. Do you think I'll need to adjust the mixture at all? I've read a thread on a moto morini site about adjusting the pilot screw while balancing the carbs, go both screw directions until the bike stutters and then aim for the middle of these 2 position...

Re: Still not running right
Yeah I'm pretty sure the carbs are on right.
When I rode home earlier it started struggling when slowing down again. A problem a thought I had solved but I think a carb balance will work wonders on that score I'm also hoping it sorts the low down running as pulling away is terrible, lots of vibes!

Re: Still not running right
I should probably re phrase that to say I think I can hear the mechanical (the noise, if say combustion was silent, cogs grinding and whirring etc haha) noises of the engine more clearly over the exhaust note than I could before.
Yep petrol is now all fresh.
Cheers

Still not running right
Hi All, Further to my previous threads I've now cleaned the carbs, replaced the PiperX filter with a standard replacement and changed all the fuel. Although it has got better with each change its still not right and there is a definite lack of power, I can still have WOT in first from 20mph with out...

Re: what have you done to your storm today
Cleaned carbs and put everything back together, running sweetly once again! Attempted CCTs but came unstuck on the cheese like bolts. Going to get local engineers to weld a socket on and see if they can machine a set out of something more substatial!

Have I done everything needed for a carb clean?
Further to my other posts I've got the carbs off and stripped the bowls. Inside the bowls I've removed the 2 flat head screws the biggest of which is what I believe to be a jet? The other is smaller and sits in the 8mm bolt headed jet? I've also removed this jet I've cleaned all these and jetted wit...

Ideal, that's a great post quite looking forward to this as long as it all works afterwards.
