Re: Project Blue Belle
Sorry to hear that you've been lied to, I'm sure that it won't be the last time I'm afraid. The older I get the more disappointed I get with folk, the good guys seem to be getting thin on the ground! I sincerely hope you get stuck back in and don't let this cretin get best of you? I have followed th...

Re: CBR1000 Firestorm
Thanks! My intention was to have something a bit unusual and I'm happy with it so far. I am now awaiting bits to come back from powder coaters etc so I can start the rebuild after the teardown. I am in the middle of electroplating and will be posting a mini guide of how I do it and before and after...

Re: CBR1000 Firestorm
I have grit blasted every last bracket and nut/bolt that I'm plating, next is degrease and then ultrasonic clean. After that an acid bath and neutralizer then plating. It takes ages but the results always amaze me. I could send them all to Allenchrome and they do an ace job but I get a buzz out of k...

Re: CBR1000 Firestorm
It will be Zinc plating. I'm not sure what colour to passivate after plating. I like the bluey silver but don't know if the Yamaha green will be best or Yellow or Silver aaargh not sure!

Re: CBR1000 Firestorm
Cheers Chris  Loving my project and I'm pleased with how its looking apart from how the subframe meets the fram, i am going to rework that bit. I reckon this is going to be fairly light bike when its done. When I'm wheeling it about it feels so easy after moving my YZF 750. I'm starting to ...

Re: CBR1000 Firestorm
Hi, had to work so not as much done as expected but not to worry. I have finished the battery box and exhaust. The exhaust straps are not shown in the piccys as I made some as a pattern and have sent them away to have some proper ones made but the exhausts are in the finished position, not really Pa...

Re: CBR1000 Firestorm
Looking very good indeed. The two link pipes running close to the shock may overheat it. You might want to slide an aluminium heatsheild in around the shock to deflect some of the hear. A nice touch would be a ducted cooling duct from the tail downwards, or from the rear of the catchtank upwards. C...

http://i1027.photobucket.com/albums/y337/moto1818/IMG_0242_zpsea0jcteb.jpg Not wishing to throw a spanner in the works as the new can positions look great 8) but looking at this photo the clearance when the swingarm/shock is compressed makes me think the tyre could be coming into contact with the c...

Re: CBR1000 Firestorm
Great work mate, look forward to seeing it all completed. Cheers, I am looking to have the thing all mocked up, checked and I'll make sure I'm happy with it, then I'll tear it down hopefully in the next week. I'm going to have the frame and swing arm powder coated in Satin black, Gold wheels with g...

Re: CBR1000 Firestorm
Well Mr Honda didn't spend loads of Yen sorting it out to run right for no reason...So don't expect it to run bob on without any problems. Same with cutting the cans down..They are that length for a reason...Gasses, back presures, scavenging ect. Good luck with it, factor in some dyno time... Oh &a...
