Re: New to Forum

Ok so what’s the condition and the cost of the parts. Maybe some piccies.

I Need to put it together ride it and see if I want to invest in it before committing but if I have an idea of prices it would help my decision process.

Thanks

Re: New to Forum

Hi Folks, got my carbs back from ultrasonic clean tonight and I'm pleased to have had a peek and can report the main Jets are indeed 175F and 178R. The concept of them being altered was a malicious rumour. Looking forward to reassembly now and getting her running with the new choke nuts! I could wel...

Re: New to Forum

Useful info though the previous owner had a propensity to mess with things so I wouldn’t be surprised if he did re jet it whether it needed it or not! I’ll check them once I get them back from cleaning. Anyone any ideas of what markings OEM jets should have?

Cheers

Re: New to Forum

Hi thanks for the info. No the mug cans are joined by a clamp - not welded which is partly why I thought they may also have been own. Trouble is I got about 20 balls in the air just now and I’m struggling to focus on any one thing. I’ll get my carbs back (hopefully), start the bike, ride it and see ...

Re: New to Forum

Hi Guys, sorry for delay. Been Megga busy sorting the rest of brother in laws estate out. I'm going to try and attach a few photos of the pipes on the bike, the original cans and what I think are the original pipes. To the untrained eye the front pipes look the same to me but I could be wrong. Until...

Re: New to Forum

Hi Nick, thanks for the PM. No not able to reply but just send me news if you have any and we'll work something out. I guess I should really get the carbs cleaned, repaired and refitted then have a ride on the bike before I decide whether to spend any money on it but I'm thinking I'm going to like i...

Re: New to Forum

Hey Guys thanks for the welcomes. I must say that I thought I has added notifications but hadn't received any so came looking and see there were several. Must have a play with the settings again. I take the point that if the plastic ones break they are the weak link saving the carb body, but ally an...

New to Forum

Hi all, new to the forum and indeed to the VTR. Never had a VTwin before. Had lots of bikes with singles, twins, and fours the last one being a fire blade CBR900RR1 which I had until 2010 when I hung up my bike jacket, or so I thought. I always figured that if I got back into biking it would need to...
