Re: One Week

I have a 09 cbr600 which I bought for Cadwell in the shed which is faster generally but not over hills or into strong winds.I would say the Storms power is about the same as a 92 Blade once it's hit 6k which is amazing for a twin and a lot more satisfying. The standard C&S is the only bike where ...

One Week

Hello This last week I have been waiting for a genuine C&S kit to turn up and I have used my sons R1 as I get withdrawal. Nice power rush for about an hour and then I missed my twin .It also took longer to clean .I've ridden the Storm without taking it for granted longer than any big four I've h...

Re: New bike - Moriwaki race vtr

I experimented with ram air in the sixties with a C15 ,boxes ,funnels , hover tubes and got totally laughed at.Back then I did not realise you needed to pressurise the float bowl from the highest pressure point of the air inlet. Without this air blows fuel back down the main jets so it won't work.So...

Re: New bike - Moriwaki race vtr

Hello All I think Honda rushed this bike out to take sales off Ducati and then decided to take more time over developing the rc51.But whether by accident or not the Storm is as good and better in many ways. It,'s duel circuit oil system is preferable ,the diamond spar frame maybe more ridged and s/ar...

Re: sh1t Fuel?

I was told by a delivery driver that all the different fuel brand tankers fill up at the same place but there is definitely a issue with quality.Cars and bikes I have run have only had problems when on Tesco petrol.Tesco have a fast turn over so it is not because it is stale.I know they demand a tig...

Re: Handguards. My latest winter preperation

I bet you're going to scorn this but once you've tried it.I put empty plastic bread bags over my thin Summer gloves held with a rubber band up the sleeve and then they're better than my purpose made winter mits.Dry and warm hands for nothing. The guards are a good move at keeping the elements off.

Wife

Hello All
The Sun was shining today (honest) so I took the bike out for ride with the wife on the back.To avoid a spill I braked quick at a junction and got moaned at for not warning her first.I'm only the driver and I should have begged permission first .

Re: Poor Condition

You need legal advice, you should not have to do anything accept run the bike in like what you paid for.I cannot understand why you are having this nonsense it is such a basic machine and well within range of any one who can read a manual to repair.Fitting jetting kits should be easy also as all the ...

Re: Poor Condition

Taking money for this sort of work is sticking your neck out by both parties but if they are daft enough to do it then they should be responsible for any damage done while in their possession. They have messed up on so many levels and should not have took on a bike of this condition which tells me th...

Sorry I should have mentioned only do this if you improve the rad efficiency first.(Remove the blower).

Re: Leccy techie help needed for a little project....

You are right the Storm is very poor in the low torque department. The problem is caused by the over large inlet ports . The ports in Mitsubishi V6 6G7 car engines were nearly identical and so were the problems.Making the ports narrower cured this and also it raised top end power.I thought of adding ...

Re: Cooling Note

I used a stat from aF 2 cbr600 .No you don't use more fuel switching the engine off ,it's so weak an argument it doesn't deserve an explanation. I posted this for just for reference .I had never used my fan in ten years so why lug it about when it adds to the problem in the first place. This is no ne...

Cooling Note

I do not write this as a recommendation only as a note of interest. I never let my bike idle at a stop for more than a minute so the cooling fan is just dead weight for me.Removing it has improved the air flow and efficiency to the point of where I had to fit a warmer thermostat to regain mpg.On a h...

Re: Tyre Fitting

Tyre fitting is more about technique than brute strength,I only need the levers to remove the first half of the tyre the rest is done by bare hands and I'm no muscle man.Practice first on mountain bike tyres to the point of where they just slide on and off without levers and you get the feel of what...
