Re: Alternator wires to Rectifier size?

Japanese bikes use a metric wire size that is not a direct cross over to AWG or anything else commonly available in the UK or US. it would be about 19 AWG if it was a thing, as its not I use 18 AWG, high strand tinned Marine rated wire or M22759/16 Tefzel 18 AWG wire. BUT I would not patch that .. ...

Re: Battery Charging Woes

So having ridden my newly acquired Storm for a couple of weeks I've noticed she's more and more reluctant to start cold or hot. I assumed knackered battery and put a new one in due to her being on sorn and laid up for near 2 years. However after a couple of days she was struggling again. Last night...

Re: Happy birthday E.Marquez

Thanks all Put customer work aside Sunday and today to work on personal bikes. Need to get back to wrenching for fun instead of just work. So I asked the boss for the day off today... Surprisingly I said yes ....lol It helped that the wife was at work and could not veto the decision. That and I inst...

Re: speedo face removal & replace

Funnily enough just had some other vinyl stickers done and with them they had the option of gloss or matt laminated finishing I forgot to ask on your protoype version with the firm that buried them to do a matt finish! Looked at your LED crimbo light string in the housing above the face plate and i...

Ah pity, thanks for letting me know.
That is a pity, though you can still get them from the bloke on the US site, or make them from Polaris parts if you prefer the brass style over Aluminum

Re: U.K. Question

Im big on the "To Each His Own" kind of thing... Heck there are plenty of VTR builds on this page and the US one that Id never own, want to ride or have a hand in building.. But as Im not doing any of that, who cares.. To each his own. BUT if there is a good reason to build something point...

Re: JE high comp noise

Not to belabor the point, but what spec? That for the OEM pistons or for the JE piston as they are not the same. Pre Ignition or detonation is an easy diagnose, run a tank of high RON fuel, be it from a local track / race car supplier or piston engine aviation fuel. Running a high RON fuel won't hu...

Re: Wow.. check them mcct's.

What about no nut and instead a slot cut in the end of the bolt, then it'd be sort of like a tappet type adjuster (locknut and screw) . It would work... but less convenient for adjustment Id think. And really, anaerobic stud and bearing mount or high strength thread lock and a nut...the nut is NOT ...

You confused me Matt...I'm thinking whos this Jackson bloke ...  Yes Ade's MCCts...Personaly I thought they were a pain to fit with the lock nut against the dome & a Nylock against the body... As the Nylock took some effort to turn it was turning the bolt, despite holding the dome as...

Re: JE wrist pin clips

JE clips are a bugger to install as they are thicker/stiffer then stock or VErtex, ect.

I can say for sure JE and OEM pin clips are not interchangeable, I cant say for sure it another brand might work.

Personally I never mix and match..new clips are always from the same brand as the piston.
