Welcome back Pezed

Pirks is right, you don't have to have a Firestorm to stay on this forum

Re: Well you asked for another Ducati build

Thanks Tony for the vote of confidence regarding using Cerakote on my oil lines

A good reminder on fitting fork seals. Great to find the forks in good order I'm sure 8)

Re: Well you asked for another Ducati build

I’m impressed with the Cerakote finish you’re getting too 8)
The thought of using it on my Firestorm oil lines also went through my mind,

Re: VTR 1000 Good for the last hurrah?

Welcome aboard James  The earlier Firestorms have a 16ltr fuel tank, whereas the later ones have a 19ltr tank, so if you are planning on doing more than 100 miles or thereabouts before stopping for a break and fill up that could be a deciding point. In my opinion the Speedo's are easier to ...

Re: Well you asked for another Ducati build

You are certainly getting on with this build. Interesting to read about how you have made your own (now no longer available) swingarm bush and the case hardening of it

Re: Well you asked for another Ducati build

I’m sorry to say it Tony, but looking at the photos only there looks to be too big of a gap between the rear wheel/tyre and the rest of the bike making the swingarm look really long. It’s like there needs to be something to fill that gap may be? It’s only my opinion, and may look different in reali...

Re: 1997 Rebuild gone bad

Hi folks. I done the compression testing that long ago now that I can't remember whether I'd to put a booster on it or not. I do know I got very close to book spec. With regards to MCCT - yeah, fitted them about 6 years ago. Bike was bought with smashed valves, so I hope to avoid repeating it! I've...

Re: 1997 Rebuild gone bad

Not wishing to throw a spanner in the works of Tony's reply, but when you did the compression test was the engine turning over at the right speed then? If not then you would get a low reading.

Have you fitted manual cam chain tensioners?
