Re: what will get you through winter?
changing the suspenders :cool2 is prob the best money spent on a storm. Agreed and the reason I chose to do this. π I'm also signing up for some riding courses at NOLA Motorsports as I just spoke with them on getting joined up and getting back to riding after a 25 year absence on a bike. π€·πΌββοΈ Goin...

Re: what will get you through winter?
I'm still gathering parts for the rebuild and semi-restoration of my new toy I bought in August. Took her for a maiden voyage and fell in love. π Did some reading and the dreaded cam chain tensioners came up and put her away for some work over the winter. π€·πΌββοΈ One ride and I miss her already. ππ Ma...

Re: From 107 to 128
This has been an awesome read and await for further updates as they come. I'm new here on the forums and have had my nose in the threads to learn more about this wonderful bike, which I purchased in August, and continue to be amazed at the cult like status of this iconic model. I'm presently rebuild...

Re: New to me VTR1000 arrives tomorrow.
Toyota make several V6βs. Lexus is Toyotaβs luxury brand. The engine in my car came from a Lexus RX300 SUV hooked up to the MR2 5 speed gearbox retro fitted with a higher 5th gear. Original suspension has been replaced with fully adjustable BC BR coil overs. πππ€·πΌββοΈ Yeah I'm not an suv fan so those...

My heart flutters when I hear of or see an MR2. ππ₯ Nice JDM wheels on the car and both are classic Japanese icons. π Oh nice bike too. πππ€·πΌββοΈπ I can see you're a car guy and do hope you're flogging the mid engine beauty around from time to time. Re: Seat rubbing on tank
Hi I've owned my firestorm for about a year now, this winter ill be stripping it down and repainting it, but since I've owned it the seat has always rubbed the tank edge and some times slips under the tank, is this common or has the previous owner moved something or could it be an aftermarket seat?...

Re: Cam/valve cover gaskets
Well that's good to know as I'm in the process of rebuilding the bike and have the mcct's ready to go. I had planned on getting new valve cover gaskets as all the decades of me building cars has taught me that older cars valve cover gaskets get hard and break as you remove the cover. Good to know an...

Re: Rear brake, why is it there?
I watched that particular canyon racers video and it is a good reference for trail braking. This is my first liter bike and have only ridden it to storage (10 miles) to put it away until I get back from being an over the road truck driver. I'm out usually 4-6 weeks so I won't be able to try any of t...

Re: Hey all.
Thanks for the extremely warm welcome all. Don't feel bad as I am 61 years young and in the best shape in my life. :biggrin Weight training has been a part of my life since I was 19 years old and even though I'm an over the road truck driver I still train with my 40lb dumbbells everyday. Honestly I ...
