Painting Wheels

In the middle of painting my wheels white. Have seen a lot of bikes with white wheels on here but have decided on a twist. Will leave hubs and spokes black and just paint the rim white. If it looks dud will paint completely white. While I am at it new Cush drive rubbers, chain and sprockets. Wheels ...

Re: Oil Pressure Gauge

Sorry Tony, I fitted an on off switch and to date have not found it necessary to change it.Only turn it off when I start the bike, Bike runs between 71-81 generally and the fans have only ever come on a couple of times at 103 in heavy stop start traffic. I can't remember the model number but I'm sur...

Re: Oil Pressure Gauge

I got onto this pump through a couple of younger mates who were running Turbo Rice Burners(Japanese Cars)they used them to regulate and boost the flow of water through their inter coolers. I saw a post on a fellow forum in the States, I think you guys know the one and decided to do it. At that stage...

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today

Cleaned it and took it for a ride with the owner of an 848 that I have just done the belts on and given a full service including valves and a fork service with new bushes and seals. Also repaired a hole in the radiator and gave a full detail. Here's a pic of my bike and the 848. Glorious winters day...

Re: Oil Pressure Gauge

Sure is, it's a Davies Craig. Been on for about a year now and works great. no thermo, lightened flywheel, 4 degree advancer, no anti rattle gears, no pump drive chains or gears, J.E pistons, some head work and a few other mods as well. Hard to tell what a difference each mod makes because they were...

Re: Tyres - PR3 or PR4?

I am not negative to new technology and am open to trying new tyres, however I go back to the press releases when the Storm came on the market. I run an old spec Dunlop D209 on my Storm and find it to be the best for me. Another bonus is that they are cheap to buy now, but are getting harder to sour...

Oil Pressure Gauge

Running out of stuff to do so fitted an oil pressure gauge that had been sitting around for years. It was originally going on my TRX850, but that was about 4 bikes ago! I drilled and tapped the oil gallery plug behind the starter, put the fittings in, bloody tight fit, had to use a dremel on the fit...

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today

There is a fair bit of nudge nudge wink wink goes on here in Oz. Our Policing is very much focused on revenue raising, so if you follow the rules regarding the roads you can get away with a fair bit. Most coppers are pretty fair, although from time to time the EPA(Environmental Protection Agency) wi...

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today

Funny thing here in Oz is that we to have annual inspections where you take your bike in for a "Rego Check" each year. I always take mine to a car dealership and have it done and have never had a problem. My idea is that they don't see many bikes and are not up to speed with bike laws. Als...

Re: i'm lost for words

Wow, that is a result. Here in Oz that would never happen. They now patrol free car parks in vehicles equipped with cameras and if you are in contravention of the rules, e.g park on a line or exceed time you get a nice fine in the mail to the registered owner with a photo of the infringement and a n...
