Re: full clutch basket swap
Wicky, Thanks for those tips. I looked at those clutch holders, but went of a universal system [the ones that look like mutant mole grips] as they work on clutches, generators and sprockets. Hadnt thought about the center nut, but you are correct, it is "bruised" into a groove in the shaft...

full clutch basket swap
As part of my investigation into the Clutch grab, and excessive vibration problems, I plan to do a full swap of clutches from my spare engine to the #1 bike. I plan to swap all the components, Plates, basket, springs, actuation pushrod end etc from one engine to the other. Got my clutch gasket on or...
Re: forks
that sounds much too complicated, what I suggest is that I do you a swap for my Roger D modified stock forks, and save you all the stress of the conversion :D if I cant convince you to do that, then you might also have a good look through the SuperHawk forum in the USA as someone there may have trie...

Been down to Valencia for the MotoGP, and I go out to ride trail bikes down near Malaga most years, but never been out on a road bike please dont remind us about the good roads, the good weather and the fact that motorcycling is e...

Re: is the motoring age coming to an end ?
I sure feels like it  I try and ignore the cost of the fuel I waste, but the whole new world of 50mph limits "for your safety", and the volume of traffic on the roads, and the fact that the police forces are willing to fund helicopters to "stamp down" on motorcylists m...

Re: Chain Tension Issue
+1 on oval sprocket, the steel ones are usualy fairly crude parts compared to teh renthal aluminium, so it is possible that the inner hole is over size or eccentric. only doubt I have is that one of your mails said the you could see the WHEEL run out. if the whole wheel is running out, then it is no...

Re: Chain Tension Issue
Could be the spindle is worn under the bearings, was there any witness marks? Take spindle out and roll it on the most flat surface you can find (like a glass coffee table) and see if it is either bent or if there are wear grooves in it. Also after thinking about it, a bent spindle won't make the wh...
