Re: Temp gauge

I had the sort of reverse of this issue and it was the sender from the thermostat housing which was to blame - replaced it and the gauge works normally now.

Re: Troubles gear

As far as I'm aware they all do that to some degree. After time and experience you can make it less by sensing when to change but as Chris (Sirch) says, into 2nd as soon as you can and use the torque from there. I doubt you have a mechanical problem. Where are you out of interest?

Re: Roger Says...Wait he did?

I had 35,000 miles on mine and thought that those moaning about the ACCTs must be somehow deluded. Then pop. No warning, nothing. So manuals were fitted and IMHO not only do I get peace of mind, there is a little difference in the way the bike reacts. That was 8 years ago and I have checked adjustme...

Re: Swing arm removal

You'll need a good breaker bar to remove the swing arm nut. I was quite worried when I did mine - sure that something would shear but it didn't and cracked off after a lot of pressure.

Re: Head bearings adjustment

Usually, if there is any play in the head bearings it means they are knackered. Tightening them up just hides the fact and makes the steering worse. I've never heard of correctly installed head bearings (ball or roller) needed adjustment after the initial bedding in adjustment. Well, you have now. ...

Re: Head bearings adjustment

You don't need to remove the fairing. Its the castellated ring under the yoke that needs torqueing really though I've never worked out how to do that, so I just leave it with still a little play, then when tightening down the yoke top nut it seems to take up the play. I did replace mine with taper r...

Does the knocking sound go away when you pull in the clutch lever?
