Re: From 107 to 128

Did a conrod big-end leave the crankshaft and damage the engine :?: Nope. The clutch-side main bearing was heavily worn but complete. The front con-rod bearing is less worn but still toast, the rest look like they could be used again. Only the flywheel side of the crank had any play so I think the ...

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today

Broke the small plastic tabs (in rear cowl) holding the taillight in place (without a doubt the most flimsy and useless design ever used! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr). Used some thin sheet metal to rebuild them and ready to go!

Re: Rev 3

Made it to the dyno yesterday. Numbers are a touch low but I am running really rich right now. Only received a piss poor print out so no chart to post up from this run  With that she is putting out around 120hp though as soon as the slides open the A\F ratio drops all the way off the cha...

Re: It's not for a storm, but I'd like to hear your thoughts

I totally understand trying it out.....I've done my share of "experiments" over the years. On this though I passed as the shift shaft,on a VTR, already rides in a needle bearing as it exits the case. So adding another next to it didn't add up for me.......Though just my opinion and YMMV :...

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today

Booked dyno time for this Wednesday  Seems to be running well and pulling hard so it will be interesting to see what it does  Can't wait to see the results :) Of course, the real results of all your hard work come when you twist the throttle out on the road and by that measure it see...

Re: It's not for a storm, but I'd like to hear your thoughts

I installed one on my VTR for two reasons: OCMD ('nuff said), and also due to my incremental approach to modding the bike. While its effect could not be expected to be world-changing, it also cannot do any harm. Providing additional support to the protruding section of the sift shaft can only help r...
