Re: Shims + Valve Clearance + Chain

First thing is to stop riding until you get to the source of your concerns. In the Workshop knowledge subforum there is a downloadable Honda workshop manual in PDF format, which is handy to have alongside the Haynes manual. As for your chain & sprocket moving around - Whip the sprocket cover off...

Re: Another ebay tank gem...

The handlebar weights are from a breakers just a couple of miles away from me - I've got to pop over Monday to pick some stuff up from them (won before the ice age!) so I'll mention WTF esp the ridiculous starting price for something so obviously damaged. Normally they're a very good couple of lads ...

Re: EMPLOYMENT LAW, ANY HELP CHEERS

seb421 You might well be right - Even getting to work is a legal quagmire. Q&A: Winter chaos and your rights http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/8421373.stm But presuming you have worked less than a year then be aware you'll probably find yourself a marked man with your employers, if you point o...

Re: plastic weld and respray

You don't have to go for a full respsray if you can fix and prepare the areas around the damage. The trick will be blending in the paint (& lacquer) to the undamaged areas. This will avoid the cost of a full re-spray, and the added cost of Honda decals (£££s!!) to restore it back to a factory...

Re: HOW MUCH SNOW?

This morning after missing the bus I had to take the storm out to town - thankfully avoiding all the black ice (council has ran out of grit) - tried to fill up with petrol but lock was frozen - almost accidently broke it - but then couldn't start bike as the key was bent. managed to borrow a pair of...

Re: High / low beam switch [button?] sticking

The contact switches are greased up from new - Unless you've had them apart your problem is probably due to the sub-zero temps having an odd effect. Careful in taking the switch apart - I did mine to try and solve a temperamental sticky horn (ooer!) for MOT - ended up with a newer one of ebay which ...

Can you bodge up with glassfibre/ali mesh the mounting points (front & rear) - the ones at the bottom with the PITA plastic screws aren't absolutely essential.
