Re: Hi from Milton Keynes.

No clocks! I would struggle with that. I guess you will just have to open the filler and shake the bike to see how you are going. Maybe chuck a manual petcock from a different bike in there somehow,, so at least you know when it hits reserve?

Re: FireStorm <--> Yamaha TRX850 commentary

Ive just come from a trx too. Mine had 100,000km on it when it was written of (and reclaimed!) Agree with most of what you say. The VTR is actually a couple kg lighter than the TRX on paper Trx has a steel trellis frame. Vtr has a aluminium twin spar that is a little bit "trellisy" The TRX...

Re: Braided clutch line testimonials

Cheers guys ill just pull the trigger on the clutch line then, will match the brake lines and give me an opportunity to unravel and tidy up the umbilical cord of tangled shite going up the left frame spar, most of which is the PO's wiring for the 3,000 modules and flashers and led strips which i hav...

Re: Braided clutch line testimonials

True,
Do they generally come in one piece, or do they incorporate the existing hardline?
I imagine with one piece you would pretty much be on your own coming up with tie down points?
Im thinking to get Wezmoto as its the cheapest one and will match the brake lines.

Braided clutch line testimonials

Just wondering if there is a noticeable difference?
Worth it or spend it on beer? Search failed me.
Not cheap, about half the price of the three brake lines.

Re: How to sit on the Firestorm (LOL)

yeah cheers guys. i kind developed the habit from dirt bikes and long geared road bikes. I like the extra control it offers and to be able to pull off 2nd instead of 1st around tight roundabouts or whatnot. Ill just have to adjust my habits i guess. Its a shame there isnt a simple fix for it though,...

Chucked some braided front brake lines on the front along with new oem pads and a backyard disc "resurface"
Big improvement.

Re: Sad news

Was just reading some of his posts the other day and in past weeks, about getting out on his mighty rc8 and enjoying the sh1t out of it, and dealing with sh1t drivers, as you do,, its not my place to say anything but this has kicked even me in the guts. Heartfelt condolences to you and your family. ...

Re: How to sit on the Firestorm (LOL)

Yeah whats the deal with the clutch. It gets grabby when you least expect it. 5 times its good 6th time tries to throw me. Can this be remedied with different plates, or new brake fluid or a braided cable maybe?

Re: Airbox Mods

Ok so i chucked a Genuine Honda air filter in ($$$ 8O ) and reckon i picked up 5hp everywhere and all the smoothness and response, lol best powermod ive ever done. Didnt even do the Bernie Sanders mod, thankfully the PO kept the little rail piece that screws in a box with all the other oem parts tha...

Re: Airbox Mods

Cheers mate. to be honest i wouldnt know the difference 2 hp would make. If the paper filter doesnt net an improvement in smooth crispness on the butt dyno I'l roll up my sleeves and delve into the jetting.
