it works. just transformed my pillon footpegs! make up a solution of sodium hydroxide (watch your eyes) drop in your anodised aluminium bits and bobs. leave for half an hour stirring and agitating occasionally. if necessary give a scrub with a washing up pad. dunk in vinegar to neutralise the NaOh....

Re: Dyno Day?

We would need a minimum of 10 people, cost would be £30 per bike, tea, coffee n biscuits provided. If we have enough interest, we can sort a date out, im in anyway. That's sounds good to me. I would be coming from east London. I'm in too assuming the arranged date works for me. Would love to know w...

Re: w&nkers: speeding= 6 points & £660+court costs

I know you have a solicitor and all mate. However, and this is just me thinking Hard to prosecute someone for failing to identify a driver if there is no proof the offence occurred. When you say the evidence was seen by experts whay do you mean? Was there initially photographic evidence that is now...

Re: front end clunk!

Plus, 1 more thing: my new did x-ring chain seems to have tightened (less free play than the recommended 40mm I set it at throughout its rotation) after a hundred miles or so.. Is this possible? . And what are people's thoughts on correct care of an x-ring chain? Lubrication type and frequency etc....

Re: w&nkers: speeding= 6 points & £660+court costs

hi again. had court yesterday. made the statutory declaration then got prepared to plead guilty and read out my lengthly statement of 'special reasons' in the hope of reduced penalties only to be told that i could do nothing more today as the CPS hadn't shown up and i was at the wrong court!- the h...

Re: front end clunk!

Maybe check the wheel bearings again. I had a clonk that I could hear/feel when the forks hit the lock stops on my ST1100, which I put down to the olde-timey antidive bracket moving, but turned out to be the wheel bearings. Sensing wheel bearing movement is harder that I thought, easiest was to jac...

Re: front end clunk!

This movement/knocking when I hit potholes particularly is really bothering me now! Can find no problem with the new tapered headstock bearings, the front wheel, forks brakes, discs etc also seem fine.. Was considering the possibility of loose engine mounts as it's a stressed member (like me!) Any m...

front end clunk!

hi all. i was disappointed today to find when i hit a few speed bumps and potholes a bit fast that the front end of my firestorm still makes a bit of a cluck or sometimes click, and i sense a tiny tiny movement i think. i have so far: rebuilt the forks with new firmer springs and fresh oil. replaced...

Re: w&nkers: speeding= 6 points & £660+court costs

if i get done for both I'm looking at about a grand fine plus 9 points..
shudder!
i would have to sell the storm to cover the money and buy a 50cc moped to save my license!
that'd learn me alright!.

Re: w&nkers: speeding= 6 points & £660+court costs

thanks for the info. i have done a lot of research on this and it seems that past cases have set a precedent that its pretty much impossible to argue it was 'not reasonably practicable to name the driver' i.e provide identity by responding to the original speeding FPN. even though i was in hospital ...
