Re: carb breather
The purpose of doing that it to stop the engine stalling under heavy braking. http://www.vtr1000.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=37696#p396467 edt - As Lloydie said, somebody on FB is feeding 'alternative facts' into the mix. I am so pleased that I found this. When I get a new bike, one of the 1...

Re: VTR converted to VFR handle bars-How to
Very useful write up mate, how did you bend the banjo ? Use a bit of heat? I guess you could have a line made up as an alternative too. I am in Engineering, so used to bend any type of metal and tubing. It is not something that I would recommend unless you know what you are doing. A bit to complica...

Re: VTR converted to VFR handle bars-How to
I have put "today the road test". All I can say it works fine, and much better to ride. I don't think doing high mileage will change that. It either works or it doesn't.baycat wrote:have you done a decent mileage yet to see how much of a difference they have made.

VTR converted to VFR handle bars-How to
I know that, there are many thread about handle bars on here, but as Wings said in one of there songs, Who needs another silly love song? I loved the grunt of the bike, just so dam uncomfortable at low speed and for me, seemed like one I was not fully in control of the beast. I did not wish to go th...

Re: what bike did you have and let go but would like back
In my time, I have had dozens of bikes, but 2 I wish I still had. The 1st one was a Honda CB500 4. It was a dream, and when I sold it, it was a minter. The 2nd was a VF750. I know, it had big engine problems. I sorted out the heads after the Honda update were fitted and only lasted about 3,000 miles...

I have sussed it out. I followed "Re: how to put pictures into your posts" post. And after giving it a go. it did not work, so tried again in a different way, and wala, a picture. On photobucket it is using the IMG link. I have always used Direct, which will not work on this site.

Re: Honda rectifier converted to a Yamaha unit -How to
It's a how to do, not a lessen in how to make something look Honda made. That would be up to how ever needs to do the conversion The plug is to big for the Yamaha one anyway, so still would need moding. I did try to unpick them but they were not having it. I have done it loads of other times on bloc...

Honda rectifier converted to a Yamaha unit -How to
Hi, all. I thought that a how to do on the rectifier may be of a help. I fitted a new Yamaha one I got from eBay for about £16. The wiring does not correspond with the Yamaha one, as the the 1st link will show. Most seem to cut the wires and put new spades on, which is fine. I decided that I did not...

Re: New (old) Member
I would upload pictures if I could. I have tried and to no avail. Why it is so hard to do? I have not had problems on other forums. I also can't find saved drafts, as I was doing one for the rectifier, saved it as I could not add pic's. Help

Re: New (old) Member
The cct's were change to Manuel ones as there would be no point with such low mileage on it to fit the same type back in. The forks are stiff enough, so it is not the issue, in fact almost to stiff. I have already changed rectifier for a Yamaha one, though it was not faulty, which I had forget that ...
