Re: Lock unit troubles
Got a feeling that these are fitted with anti-tamper bolts, the head sheers off when tightened, so they can't be re-used. Ordinary bolt will do fine to fit them temporarily, though, but means that it's possible for anyone with a spanner to have the ignition off and jump- start the bike. Where did yo...

Re: Bored with highlevels
Yep, dropped mine once and just blanked off the RH side, left the straight-through carbon can co on the LH side. Ran ok, seemed not to be down on power but I noticed an increase once I'd replaced the can. Don't know if one standard one would be any use, though.... Oh, and if you're going to just lea...

Result!
But I'd suggest a compression check on both cylinders just to make sure that there's no slightly bent ex valves.

It's normal, they all do it.
Don't strip the motor or anything expensive, advice given so far is accurate.

Re: rev counter not working
The joy of buying one of these with the timing 180 out is that it's dead easy to diagnose and then the fix cost is minimal.
And you get to ride it round to the seller a few hours later and tell them what it was.......

Re: Carrillo rods came in....
Hey, looking good with those mods- jealous? no...... Not really. My JE's came in today, so that's the next little game, but go careful with all the lightening- here's why: One of the great strengths of these engines is the grunt from low down form near-on tickover upwards. If you want balls-out top ...

Re: the end of my tether is in sight - won't rev
13.6 will be fine, that'll charge your battery well enough.
On mine I get 14. something for a short (no pun intended) while after starting, then settles down to 13.4 or so when running normally.
I'd guess this will be reinstating the charge I just used cranking the motor over.

Re: AMQ46's storm
Hagon, mine.
Put the remote beside the water filler cap, just under RH knee, and I can fiddle with it as I ride, no need to get off.
Works fine, reckon this mod's one of the best you can do on a Storm but then shows up how poor the front end is.....

Re: what should i do?
No difference, except headlight and speedo, with bikes from most foreign markets.
Although some French ones might have had the power capped at 100 bhp, they did almost everything at one time.
Wouldn't worry about an import, mine is, and until you sell it and get £20 less it makes no difference IMHO.

Re: Hello folks - another newbie
Re front stand, just converted mine to bobbins at the front and rear. Front one means that the RH side of the spindle bolt needs drilling and tapping. and the LH side (because it's hollow takes the same sort of fitting as a bar end, expandable rubber with a draw bolt. Works fine, and if you use plas...

Ask them to pop by and collect it in person, as you don't like sending cash in the post.
