Re: Getting bike running after 2 years?

And this looks wrongly put back together - easy to rotate it back to normal so the vacuum hose spiggot faces the right way Thanks Wicky, that pic confirms my pipe is missing.... there's only 2 coming down through frame, one to coolant and 1 to tank. Re: Getting bike running after 2 years?

After an oil and fuel change, general clean out and check over, it lives!!

Just need to get a back tyre on, new headlight bulb, brake fluid and I'll be ready to go.

Re: Getting bike running after 2 years?

Is it required? Useful to have the vent hose leading away correctly it as it helps stop fuel landing on top of a hot engine... https://p198.p4.n0.cdn.getcloudapp.com/items/DOuQzZeQ/Image%202020-05-28%20at%201.22.51%20pm.png https://i.ibb.co/MSFjYgB/20200528-125238.jpg And this looks wrongly put bac...

Re: Getting bike running after 2 years?

Just looking at the pipes again....

I appear to only have 4. When I disconnected, i think I had the 2 fuel lines plus the green vac line (goes to a t piece) and the overflow that goes to drain. There doesn't seem to be the vent pipe anywhere? Is it required?

Re: Getting bike running after 2 years?

Thanks guys. No, the 2 fuel lines are the same as your pic, just on your pic the vac line is parallel with one of the fuel lines. On mine, it's at 90 degrees to the fuel lines. Maybe it's just a different model? I think I have the smaller tank on mine, maybe that's why? Sent from my SM-G960F using T...

Re: Getting bike running after 2 years?

Lovely!! Cheers Mac Can't be sure, but think the vac was connected to that one that says No! Actually the one that it should connect to points 90 deg to the one in the photo.... With fuel tap turned on, or off, no fuel comes out of the fuel lines, is that correct or something blocked? Sent from my S...

Re: Getting bike running after 2 years?

Cheers all. Glad to be back. In the process now of servicing it ready for MOT and the road. A few years ago I used to know a little about the storm and how to do the basic jobs. I've just taken off the tank and now I'm stuck already. Can someone tell me what the thin tube from the tank is please? Th...

Re: Getting bike running after 2 years?

Was 2017 the day at Cadwell? When your ready to start it up take the plugs out and turn it over on the battery for twenty seconds before you start it. Your old battery might do for that then you won't need to wait for the new one.to recharge. Yeah I think it was 17. You were there weren't you? Sent...

Re: Getting bike running after 2 years?

Broke the storm for parts; it was worth more that way. Had the SP2 for over four years now, you sure you've only been gone for two years? There's some pics of the Tuono somewhere, it's fairly STD apart from a full Akra Titanium system, race map and filter. It's enough for now! Ah OK. I think you we...

Re: Getting bike running after 2 years?

Cheers Tony. Glad to see you're still around. Yeah but no storm. Still just about got the SP2, trying to find a way to keep it and the wife at the same time.... But just bought a 19 Tuono, with all the toys. I'll be there wherever and whenever the next Rideout is. Bored shi-tless! Ooo...what happen...

Re: Getting bike running after 2 years?

Cheers Tony. Glad to see you're still around. Yeah got a pair of tyres to stick on it when I can get to the garage for MOT. Already ordered the battery sadly, went for lead acid. Fork seals is a good shout actually, I'll have a look at those. Glad to see you're still around too Al, hope you're keepi...

Re: Getting bike running after 2 years?

Take the carbs off, turn them upside down, 4 screws under each carb is the float bowl. Remove & inspect & clean if grobby, to get to the jets remove the float... there is a pin, remove that & the pin & the float comes away. Do one bowl at a time so as to not mix parts up. https://ww...
