Same with mine, so I tend to put the barrels on but keep the heads off till it’s in the frame.

And I don’t have any water pipes, so mine should be easier.

So an update on the saga…. I found a source for genuine Yamaha crank seals and got them ordered, but the hunt for std size pistons wasnt going so well. When I took the LH piston off, there was 2 circlips fitted on the inner side of the small end!!
That was a timebomb waiting to wreck the bore when it worked its way out
