Re: It's comin' along .... slowly
Re snapped bit- they're quite brittle, so if you can still see it try a centre punch, see if you can break it up. Depends on how solid/stable the surroundings are. If you're really stuck, a decent engineering shop should have a spark eroder. Funny you mention a shock sock; that's what I was going to...

Re: Ear plugs!!
If the soft foamy stuff reduces the noise level I reckon the soft foamy stuff I have between my ears does the job ok. It's the gigs that's done my hearing in. DJing and bands, over the years. Anyway, if I had decent hearing I'd be worrying about every little knock and rattle. Can't hear it, so no pr...

Re: Another Lamb to the slaughter :)
Those rear indicators... saw them on the display stand, and they just looked odd; I couldn't picture them looking ok on a bike. But they do sort of work like that. Would a hugger clear the link pipes? Not suggesting you need one, but I'd want to keep one on if I did a SS conversion to keep the shock...

Re: Pictures direct from I phone
No. The red on the tank is different to the red on the side panel, and the seat's another shade again. I'd be thinking about a nice black- anything matches black, and to add a little pizazz there's always metalflake. And a bike with open intakes in a dusty car park- heading for trouble, IMHO.
Re: Pinlock
Was it a rep for a visor company? That stuff's abrasive, isn't it?benny hedges wrote:
before pinlocks i used to buff the inside of the visor weekly with a dab of green swarfega - works very good.
a rep showed me that at a bike show ages ago.... try it - it works

Re: Headlight removal
Well done.
I wondered about putting all wiring (to headlight, sidelight, indicators, and in my case indicators in mirrors) to a single block connector, to make fairing removal easier. Why unplug four or five things when you can just do one?
Anyone done this?

Re: WSB
Right, that's it.
I'm not buying an RSV4R now.
Was gonna, but not now.
I have a feeling that Cal will make his reply at a racetrack near you sometime soon.....

Re: Project shitstorm
Though about a seat mod myself, but I'm not sure that I'd find the higher/more angled seat comfortable.
Not as in sitting on, more about putting more weight on the wrists.
Good luck, keep the piccies coming...

Re: Microcosmos
Well, I wouldn't put my tongue into it, as one of the pictures shows. That seems a strange thing to do- stoned, maybe? I could put the interest from my bank savings account in there- it's too small to be seen with the human eye at the moment. But as regards VTR's- wouldn't mind seeing the CCT spring...

Re: Swingarm Bobbins
No, they're not standard but it's an easy mod. The swing arm's only three to four mil thick, so I'd recommend using M8 fine bolts. You could go all the way through and secure with a backnut, but they're fine just drilled in through the outer side skin. Search in the workshop section for pics and whe...

And drape a couple of bits of rag over the side topmost fairing mounting brackets- they're sharp and can easily damage paint.

I'd still ride with yer.
Hang around, you don't have to have one to know about them.
Nice bike, btw.
