Re: Help need pic of a motor
Or... https://www.ecosia.org/images?q=vtr+1000+engine Take your pick... if you look at the pic I posted and the description you'll see none of the pics in the link you posted really fit. This was a long shot... but Id rather have a motor in the visual reference than just a line drawing depiction of...

Keywords to look for is "Aluminum safe" and "No Silicates" / "silica-free" / "Silicate Free"
Silicates are (can be) abrasive and over time can contribute to wear

Re: Aftermarket Radiators
The "Racing Radiators from GPI and other brands all seem to be of the same design and size, meaning none of them fit as a bolt on and all take MODs to the fan and bike to them fit and function correctly. http://www.vtr1000.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=42518&p=464589&hilit=While+I+...

Re: Cylinder head / gasket failure
From this very forum https://www.superhawkforum.com/forums/technical-discussion-28/cylinder-head-gasket-leaks-why-35134/#post407810 The cylinder head gasket was leaking very slightly. So I put out a distress call to Roger Ditchfield -- the guru of VTRs. Very happy to have him reply and he said there...

Re: Fuel leak, hard to start
Took a hose off and fuel pissed out, even with fuel tap turned to the off position. I can use the all balls repair kit instead of genuine Honda yes? You can use the AllBalls kit, I choose not to based on my experience with them on our 90 bike training fleet. I use them on the training fleet because...

Re: Fuel leak, hard to start
Would this be a busted fuel tap leaking fuel into the vacuum hose? Likely yes, and so the cylinder is getting raw fuel. With engine off, remove the hoses from the fuel petcock, see if you get fuel dripping to confirm...If so, rebuild the petcock using the OEM part set COVER SET, PETCOCK 16953-ML0-0...

HUGE shout out to Wicky, without him this project would have been dead in the water before it started. VTR Speedo, easy to read on the 199...
