Re: forks overhaul / repaint
Yep, you need to get them completely stripped as they sit in the overn for 20 mins at 200 degrees c to cure. Gloss black looks much better in the flesh than you would imagine.

Liberated
Well, I've finally got the datatool removed and am back in business. I also got myself a 24k service and a fresh MOT. Not going to bother with another immobiliser, I'm putting a ground anchor in the garage and I suspect most bikes just get lifted into vans rather than ridden away and its one less th...

Thanks Max, I'll try the eraser trick.
Definitely going to have it removed one way or the other!
Cheers

I've now established that this is a Datatool Uno immobiliser with LED. Anyone had any experience with these things?

Datatool
Cheers Kaz,
I've done this and found some stuff for the later models with alarms. I'll try a similar procedure on my antique version and see if it works.....

DATATOOL Immobilser Question
Hi All, I've got an old Datatool Immobiliser on the storm (the one with the touch key and touch pad, its been on there since new in 97). I inadvertantly disconnected the battery the other day without disarming it (yeah , I know  ) and now the bloody thing won't disarm. Does anyone know if thes...

Thanks Guys, They are only for occasional use (a tankbag and Backpack usually suffice). I just don't want to get something that only lasts a year or 2...

Hi All,
I'll be looking for a set of Panniers for the 'storm soon. Any reccomendations for a set that are weatherproof and a good fit to a VTR with Standard Pipes on?
thankyouverymuch

Jeez,
that makes me feel better about being the wrong side of 40!
I've reached the stage where fully comp insurance less than a set of tyres

Circa 1978 I had an old CB175 that I'd bought for cheap transport as my "Proper" bike, a Norton Jubilee was always in pieces.. Once I'd sorted the Norton I sold the CB175. It had been eating camshafts so I stuck a new set in, leaving the only one visible fault - a little smoke coming out o...

I saw one on the A1 last week near Hatfield, quite possibly the dirtiest bike i have ever seen, obvously wasnt someone who loves a VTR.

Re: New Storm
You could be on the money here. Honda loves the V4 layout (look at the way that they have re-engineered MotoGP to get a V4 back in). The cost of the V4 engine is high though. Mind you, I would prefer a V4 to an IL4 any day!
True, and I'd prefer a v twin to a v four :D I have seen ta...

New Storm
If they do bring out a new faired v twin its bound to have "pointy" styling and probably an underseat exhaust. it would also be nice to see a naked version to go against the Aprilia Tuono et al (ok I admit im an ex hornet rider....) What's the story with emmissions on the storm motor? It m...
