Thanks Chris, Chris (the other one!) has contacted me just before Christmas, and luckily for me, he still has the rods, and they will be heading Down Under!

Re: Carrillo Rods for sale
Anybody know if the rods are still available? Or anyone know if Chris is coming back? He was last active in August, I pm'd him in November, but the message is still sitting in my outbox.
Cheers.
Cheers.

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
Posted this in my build thread, but no responses yet... So going back to my post in July 2015; I measured the diaphragm springs after reading that DJ use a much shorter spring. The springs in the carbs are give or take 300mm (12"), the brand new units from Honda are 270mm (10 3/4ish"). I h...

Re: 16/41 sprockets going up two rear
I have been on 16/43 for a while. I changed when I was using the Storm as a commuter, I figured quicker takeoffs etc suited shorter gearing. Now I don't ride so much, more highways and outback, I could probably go back to standard. An excellent site is https://www.gearingcommander.com/ to see what e...

Re: Powerbronze tail tidy-undertray
Hi Tony, thanks. I was thinking about it at work today and came up with the same solution. Getting frustrated lately as I have a VTR in pieces, little time to play shed time, and spring is 2 days away... When I started to look at the undertray last night, its been so long since I had quality shed ti...

Re: Powerbronze tail tidy-undertray
A nice little grave dig, but I would like some assistance from those who have fitted an undertray. I have taken delivery of a Powerbronze unit, and I have hit a wall regarding fitment when it comes to the lock. The hole in the undertray is a perfect fit for the lock barrel, but obviously adding anot...

Re: Stalling weirdness
Not sure if I'm barking up the wrong tree, but I used to have clunk/die and cut out issues when stopped at the lights or idling too long. Incidentally the Idle Drop Procedure never worked for me. Dropped pilot jet down 1 size, now I rarely get clunk/die/fart thing, and the Idle Drop Procedure works!

Re: Separate exhaust pipes
probably something with exhaust scavenging. The scavenging is actually the negative pressure wave moving back up the pipe from the point the pipe gets bigger – the collector (or x piece). The wave arriving at the valve during the valve overlap period is where the scavenging takes place. However it ...

Separate exhaust pipes
So I was shooting the breeze with a mate on the weekend, comparing notes (he has a TL1000S - I think he likes my VTR and wants one but doesn't want to copy), and the idea of the exhaust pipes being split into 2 totally separate and individual systems. Has anyone ever come across this or thought abou...

Re: What epoxy for carb slide?
Bit of thread resurrection, but its my thread so its ok 8) With regard to the OP, I did source some Plastex earlier this year, and I have done a test with some airbox offcuts. Now the airbox is PP-MD30 (which I found out is polypropylene with 30% mineral powder filler), and the Plastex remains flexi...

Re: VTR Down Under
What's not to like about the MT09 out of interest :?: Chris. Hi Chris, people will think I 'm stupid letting it go because it really is the perfect bike for 95% of the time. Having slightly shorter wheelbase and more aggressive geometry at the front, this bike is ridiculously manoeuvrable & fli...

Not eBay but jauce, Moriwaki engine, stage 2 cams, high comp pistons, some port work and 8000km. Starting bid about AUD$1000. So tempted....

Re: VTR Down Under
So while I haven't been active much lately, doesn't mean I have been totally idle. I have purchased and installed a pair of H Power velocity stacks. Holy sh!t these are a work of art, it is such a shame to hide these away in the airbox! I am still playing with the jetting on these, still not quite t...
