I had a head-on (overtaking on my side) and two pull-out on me today, the head-on was soooo close, I have to take invasive action! Luckily Id had a crap day at work so...

Sorry to hear about your bud, I hope he/she’s ok? Diesel spills are not so bad now days but you still get them. Always good to look out.exTRX850 wrote:a workmate came off his scooter (slowly) coz of diesel, a nice reminder - thanks.

Love the cork idea, nice work. Got me thinking on a mount for my phone now. Well I like to do my bit. The cork was one of the rubberised ones so it didn’t break apart when it was drilled or compressed. Yellow tail Shiraz I think [emoji3] I had yellow tail last night [emoji1360] Sent from ...

Re: New chain & Sprockets
It'd be handy if you can measure and ID the defect with the symmetry of the sprocket - must be quite apparent to have an effect on the chain's tension. It was a big effect on tension, but I was unable to measure any discrepancies with the tools I have. It is very odd! The fact a new sprocket sorted...

Re: New chain & Sprockets
Had a chat with the guys i got it from, and told them about my findings. They was equally surprised as i was about the front sprocket, and not had any reports of the same problem from Renthal sprockets. After a chat about what i had done they was happy to refund me the new sprocket. They seem like g...

Re: New chain & Sprockets
CONCLUSION at last! Again, I was up early today and made the best of an impromptu day off work, I bought a new Afam front sprocket locally and fitted it. The joy! The tight spots has gone, other then a one very slight one from the rear sprocket, which I adjusted and now happy with the chain slack. j...

Re: New chain & Sprockets
I re-measured the sprocket again last night and I could not find anything wrong with it. I’m buying another make sprocket tomorrow, if the issue is still there with the new one then I’ll need to rethink. Though I’ve been over thinking this all weekend!

Re: New chain & Sprockets
I also was trying to think of a way in which you could check the front sprocket for it being out. My way of thinking from what you are experiencing must mean the teeth (or at least one of them) are not evenly spaced. So with that theory in mind, you could try wrapping the chain around the front spr...

Re: New chain & Sprockets
I did measured the diameter at 90 degrees and it was out by 0.2mm, but my digital vernier calipers are not great. I’ve not checked how flat it is, I’ll have I look, thanks.Wicky wrote:Can you determine if the sproket is warped by measurement or laying it on a flat surface?
