Re: Storm for sale??

Thinking of selling the VTR and getting a Triumph 955I Daytona. Always wanted one and can't have 2 bikes so the storm would have to go. Still just thinking about it and the decision will be made after the summer. Am I making a mistake? Love my vtr, never lets me down, always enjoy the grunt and noi...

Re: Ethanol?

All fuels can have up to 5% added. If you get standard unleaded it probably has 5% Ethanol. The Super Unleaded are a bit of a lottery and depend upon the supplying refinery. The Special Super Duper High octane fuels that are becoming more common are something of a mystery and how much Ethanol conten...

Re: Fun with carbs.....

Perhaps E10 fuel is having a detrimental effect on the plastic floats.
Hoping it doesn't get introduced widely in the UK. 5% is bad enough.

Re: Fun with carbs.....

What caused them to be low?
Are they holed or bent or is the plastic deformed where they contact the float valve?

I fitted a RennTec combined rack and pillion handle. Doesn't seem like it will take much weight.

Unpacked them today. That's pretty sticky tape you used, it pulled some of the fork lowers paint off. Ho hum, life is hard. Unsure when I will fit them as I am really busy for the next few weeks and I'd rather ride than spanner. So cheers Rob.

I know the thread is ancient but if you still have the handlebars I would be interested.

Re: Clutch slipping in 3rd/4th gear all of a sudden

Semi synth not fully synth oil or it may slip more. If it's had fully synth before and that is the cause of slipping then it may take a while for the semi synth to decontaminate the clutch plates. I have just changed my oil and used fully synth 10w/40 motorcycle oil. Is this a bad idea with the VTR?

Aberdare Park Road Races 21/22 July

I am thinking of going to this as it is probably only an hour from me. Looks like it may be fun.
Last on in 2014. Has anyone been before?
