Yup, swingarm and all greased.
After a bit of riding today and over a few speed bumps the damn creak sounded when the rear lifted and lowered.
Have a spare shock when i broke up my old VTR so might swap em and see if that cures. :)

Its a slight known problem mate on the rear.
I got in contact with APE in the US and they sent me free replacement 'O' Rings.
After about a couple of months started to weep oil a bit but just used a little clear gasket sealant and all is fine. :)

Damn creaking noise...

Right peeps its buggin' me. Have had a slight creaking noise somewhere on the bike for a while now. Nope its not me. :) Have checked swinarm and shock linkages and all are fine. Checked engine mounts, basically everything but all is tight and as should be. Seems to make the creaking noise when going...

Have had manual APE's on mine for the last 2/3 years and only needed to adjust once.

Best method i was told by US peeps is to adjust finger tight and then back off half a turn.

Have had not problems.

The horriable creak noise has gone but i still have a squeek! 8O Don't know what else it could be and its annoying. I found that by cutting a couple of lenghs off 2x4 t...

Can't see how the new law can ban show plates to be honest.
Silly Big Brother nation with chips embedded in number plates etc.
There will always be a work around.
With the internet we can always order show plates from abroad surely. :)

Pretty sure the temp sensor is on the right radiator and can be exposed to the elements but have never heard of any problems. Check for corroded connectors on sensor. Easiest way to check the wiring is to pull the two wires off the sensor and use a piece of wire to connect both ends. Needle in temp ...

I had the same prob as genisis, check the fuse first. I also had a stone chip stopping it from turning and it always blew the fuse. Bit of advice... careful when squirting something like a highly flammable liquid like WD40 into a motor that contains coils which can get red hot. Wouldnt be the first ...
