Re: Rear shock - can it be rebuilt?
M-Shock may be another option. I got one with a specified spring for my KTM. It only has compression dampening adjustment but it transformed the Duke 390. And at a very reasonable cost too.

Re: VTR track bike conversion
Hi Tony, the traction control only works by modulating torque to the rear wheel, throttle opening and ignition timing. On a closed throttle it can't have any effect at all and on a neutral throttle the effect is negligible, the forces on the tyre are mainly lateral. That's why mine went down coastin...

Re: VTR track bike conversion
Just seen this thread. Great to see you are giving the old girl some love. (Colour non-coded wires due to having only red in the required size, and I'm lazy). New tyres can be amazingly slippery. Having fitted a new rear to my V4 a week previously, not ridden the bike and forgotten about it, I went...

Compared to the stuff produced by Buzzer this is a complete abortion. It's something I now can't unsee.

Re: that dread realization
My body is old and buggered. Put me on a Fireblade and I need to be lifted off after 20 miles (too crunched forward). I can sit on WellGroomed KTM adv for less than 5 miles before my back is screaming due to the upright posture. Give me something where I can lean into the wind but still have reasona...
