Re: 2022 Irish meeting 22nd July
Hi Kev, the Gentlemen of Tynedale will probably be there but we'll sort our own accommodation. Just let me know where you will be staying.

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
Interesting you didn't like the Rosso 4s. I get on with the Rosso 3s. I've not tried the 4s. The only tyre I took back off straight away were Roadtecs. That WAS a mistake. I have to admit the Supercorsas are the DBs, they feel so nice. But, for the mileage I do they are not practicable.

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
Rubber prices are going through the roof with material shortages, you had better wheelie more to save the front tyre.... And don't even look at the price of rubber Johnney,s  Or, get something a bit longer lasting. My front OEM Supercorsa lasted less than 1000 miles. I now get 2500 out of a re...

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
Well the comment of "it is not sliding against the ground" is where things go wrong because it is spinning faster than the bike is going. snip... I should have made myself a little more clear. First off the %slip data for the Ape is simply the difference between the front and rear wheel. ...

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
WHEELSLIP (%) Funny anytime I have brought up wheel slip A.K.A. tire slip I've been told I'm mad as a hatter or a flat earther.... Our tyres are slipping (as opposed to sliding) nearly all of the time we are riding. It's an interesting phenomenon that most people (I exclude yourself) do not underst...

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
Finally solved the sea of warning lights and can bus alarms the Tuono was showing me after I did a full service, valve clearances and all.....snip... Wait till you tie it into your phone and get the full logging data. These are the data points it gives you. CLOCK (s) LAPTIME (s) SPEED (km/h) RPM GA...
Re: Riding
Tony, I had my second valve check on the V4 done a little early over the Winter as the extended warantee ran out in March this year. Dealer charged £400 all in which considering the aggro involved seemed a good price. All the valves (@20,000 miles) were the same (and in spec) as the first check. Hap...

Sadly me and WellGroomed can't make it. Prior arrangements with the Kent Mafia at Moffatt that weekend.

A dead thread comes to life. Shame it was with a NSFW photo. Old comments were interesting. Sad to read comments from a very active Wicky.

Re: It's not for a storm, but I'd like to hear your thoughts
I don't want to sound like a permanent Cassandra on all of this but what will that prove? The radial movement of the end of the shaft when shifting gear will be very small. A combination of the bending strain (fractions of a micron or less?) plus the slack (if any) in the end bearing/bush. Both of t...

Re: It's not for a storm, but I'd like to hear your thoughts
Thanks. I'm fitting it today, so I'll find out if it feels any better. I'm not sure how it could feel any better. I suspect (but can't be arsed to check) that the case bearing the shift shaft goes through is a roller bearing and not some shitty pit bike bush. In which case all you will be doing is ...

Re: VTR track bike conversion
I hear quite a lot of people saying they never use the rear brake. To me that's such a waste of a useful control. Unless your rear wheel is off the ground it will help you slow down. You can use it to tighten your line without sitting the bike up. You can use it to dampen off/on throttle transitions...

A waste of money. There is no need for it. As you say the OEM shifting is superb. If you have a left side drop the shift peg on the end of the lever snaps off and is easily replaced with a new one with no damage to anything else.

Re: Front exhaust header off
I'm actually almost pleased with this. When I fitted new studs and nuts I used a special high temperature anit-sieze (Depac metal free) and when ever I removed the nuts I re-applied it. It's white and you will notice it's still on the rear exhaust studs. Better check those as well. Sent from my SM-T...
