Re: London to Brighton - MTB - Off road :o
Good on you Geo, just start getting the mileage in now so you'll be in shape to enjoy it. Decent contact points - shorts, shoes & gloves will make a big difference. I'd join you if it wasn't all the way down in that there SE

Re: Me & my other bike
Can't remember where I first saw the pic, might well have been on Lee's thread, but it is a thing of wonder in so many ways. Who, and why, and mostly - what's in the box? Someone must know. Love the composition of the picture, too. Is that genuinely you? :P Why look so grumpy, at least you look fabu...

Re: got snowed on...
That's my back yard there, Benny bach.. Your backdrop there is the very fine Glyder Fach at 999m. Snowdon itself is just off to the left, following the line of your Akras. The pointy little peak near the top right is Castell y Gwynt, which -for you poetic souls- translates as Castle of the Winds. It...

Re: Regulator / Rectifier Modification
The R1/R6 unit I fitted had a slight recess on the back which limited the surface area against the frame. I guess the unit is big & finny enough but I stuck a bit of copper plate in the recess which filled out the (I dunno, less than a mil?) gap, using thermal conduction paste. Probably a bit OC...

Good to see you back on here Tony; sorry its not with cheerier news. It won't stay crap forever - much as it must feel like it. I've suffered with chronic back problems and know that they are bad enough on their own, without all the other stuff you have on your plate. You'll get past it all, move on...

Re: Bike sold - what next?
You want a Firestorm, you do :D I guess any of the IL4s will scratch that itch for top end rush, from the (sort of) sensible Blade to the barking ZX, but my experience is that by the time they start to really feel and sound special, you're already heading way over the speed limit. Time & place &...
