Re: "Easy-Kill" (cheap) Mods!?
Griff, First off, blinkycators I bought some of those cheapy teardrop ones for pennies Then spent a bit of time and effort carving them to fit the curve of the bodywork I'm very happy with them http://img387.imageshack.us/img387/8858/flushmount4pf.jpg http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/1802/flushmount...

Re: Bleeding front brake
Bit late obviously but for future reference I always remove the calipers and pump the pistons a reasonable way out
Then when you put new lines etc on there is enough fluid in the calipers to back fill the lines and you have instant lever pressure
Ben

Re: full clutch basket swap
Recently I noticed my bikes clutch seemed not to be operating as it usually does when accelerating hard up through the gears. It almost seemed like a delayed reaction when releasing the lever, noticeable close to the end of it's travel (furthest away from the handlebar). Chris. Two thoughts on this...

Re: Trackbike initial brake feel
Spooky!!
II guess it must be something in the construction and the way it deals with heat
I never noticed it on the road but that said they were easily the worst road pads I've ever used as they just never got hot enough!
I would be inclined to put it down to a quirk and do absolutely nothing

Re: Trackbike initial brake feel
Thats an interesting observation there mate I experienced exactly the same symptoms on track with mine a few years back They worked perfectly on track, finished the session and parked up Come next session the first squeeze (in the paddock usually) was nearly back to the bars But the first corner on ...

Re: FAO QFO abba thingy
Posted this on another thread recently The support bar makes it a wee bit more awkward for storage but it is solid enough to take me sitting on it making brumm brumm noises with the swingarm and front end missing!! Hope it helps http://img197.imageshack.us/img197/8653/cadbig.jpg By storminben at 201...

Re: Aftermarket indicators
I fitted some cheapy flush mounted ones years ago and have always been very happy with them (plus they have the added benefit of keeping the rest of the fairing off the deck!) It took a bit of messing about and trimming to get them to fit the curve of the bodywork but I think they look pretty factor...

I saw a combined brake and clutch lever in one of the mags a while ago While trying to find it I came across this http://www.racedandrallied.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/_medium/classifieds-photos/GRAHAM%20THXTER/Dualever%20.jpg http://www.racedandrallied.com/kit-cars-for-sale/bike-engined-kit...

Re: Front end paddock stand
I found the rear paddock stand and jack under the engine to be stable enough with a couple of provisos 1. Don't whatever you do remove the rear wheel :-) The weight of it keeps the back on the stand and removing it WILL lead to a tip over! 2. Loosen all the bolts off beforehand so you're not swingin...

You said you didn't have any problems with the clutch on launch? We certainly did...... it's probably to biggest difficulty with launching these bikes. One of the best ways to spend £10 on the VTR!! http://www.wemoto.com/bikes/Honda/VTR_1000_F1_Firestorm__-_SC36/01/picture/Clutch_Spring_Set_-_EBC_...

afaik the ape's sprag clutch is all one part and will set you back like £400+ Yeh but its the same part as the BMW one which is £120!! :-) vicious bike though, very buzzy motor compared to the storm. some prefer the older ones as theyre a bit more manageable on the road! I was really un...

Re: any good ?
Haha, can I answer this question in an unbiased fashion? :) I bought an 01 RSV-R (the tarty one with extra carbon, Ohlins suspension and Oz wheels) three years ago coz I'd always liked the look and the venerable old VTR was needing money spending on it Since then I've done about 200 miles on it!!! 8...

Hi guys, Thanks for the messages, good to recognise some familiar names Benny Glad the duck is still alive and well -did you get the seat unit as well? One of the first things I did when I came back on the board was search for more pics of your bike -it looks awesome in white and your rebuild is sup...

Re: Roger Ditchfield VTR 2 with PICS
Hi Chris, Thought I recognized the front end after spotting the horse theme Roger had them off me last year for a bike he was building for a jockey http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/9388/trackbike006.jpg Hope you are liking them -IMO they were the best mod I ever made to the bike for a number of reas...
