Re: Assen

They must have run out of Union Jacks- was looking forward to seeing them drift up behind the podiums.

Ah well, next time....

Top racing all round. I'll have to go next year.

Re: LED Indicator resistors

Other than that Hein Gericke do some nice little resistors on ali heatsinks- were about £3 each, probably gone up a nadge now. EDIT No, still at £2.99 each! http://www.hein-gericke.co.uk/shop/advanced_search_result.php?search_in_description=0&inc_subcat=1&keywords=resistor&x=0&y=0&...

Re: Changing fork oil

Ideally you take off the fork legs and disassemble them. You need to remove the spring before you can compress the leg, and that's when you measure the air gap at the top of the leg, between the oil level and the top of the leg. I use a long screwdriver with a bit of electrical tape around the stem ...

Re: CCT one more time

With a manual oil feed you'd have to use engine oil, as it would drain past the spring and plunger back into the engine. The oil drains out of the CCT in a few seconds, a minute at best, so only a constant drip feed would make any difference. And due to the angle of the CCT and its spring, the oil w...

Re: headlight

Mikstr's solution also works well because the high beam's only going to be on while you're moving along, keeping the unit and plastic lens cooler due to the wind passing over it. You wouldn't have main beam on while stationary at traffic lights in the high street, so only 55 watts running = no probl...

Re: benny's hedgehog...

also noticed a very slight weep of clutch fluid from the bottom of the plastic res, where it goes in the metal m/c body. is that just an o-ring inside? havent taken it off yet but looks like it took a bang when i dropped it. don't fancy fluid on the fairing - that will definately take paint off. :p...

Re: Hello

Rose by any other name, and all that.

But to be fair if it was sold as a Richard mark five, for instance, I probably wouldn't have bought one :D

Welcome anyway.

Bit far to come for the summer meetup, though.

Re: Found some funny t-shirts whilst browsing

I've got myself on Rosie Nieper's mailing list.
No bike related ones (only Dali Havidson) but worth a snigger all the same.

Very surreal in places

Re: Ha-ha! Mike bike now has a home!

nice one! looks quite secure... no chance of making a mess in there tho eh! But if you bought two more, bolted them together and then removed the internal walls....... Or a top-hinged complete side, which would make a nice awning when propped up  I'd considered one of these, but ...

Re: Standard baffles-just drilled or out altogether?

I'd only add that I recently had to swap back to the standard ones from my Carbon Can Co ones (MOT-just for a couple of hours, obviously :D ) And once again I was struck by how heavy the standard ones are- all that extra weight..... So even though a bafflectomy is cheap, because you migh...

Re: Battery Charging

If new r/r is not able to keep a charge in the battery and the old one is, assuming you're right about the connections and installation being correct with the new one then you're probably keeping your old, knackered battery topped up and then some by putting excess volts and current through it. If t...

Re: benny's hedgehog...

Re the bellypan, I've noticed that the spray directly from the bottom edge of the front wheel pebbledashes and strips the paint off a stripe at the front edge about 70-80cm wide. Any ideas how to stop this? I was considering that paint protector film you can buy, as long as it's clear it won't show ...
