Re: what have you done to your "bike" today

Last few days in and off I've been refreshing the fork oil and seals on the Tuono, which is electronic so was new to me. That's now done, but while I was there I wanted to check out a pulsing feeling I have been getting for a while when braking. It feels like a warped disc, so while I had the headst...

Re: 1997 Rebuild gone bad

Nick, did you mean you could connect two batteries in parallel? Two in series would give 24 volts... On a little 250 cafe racer I built years ago, I used two tiny 6v batteries in series to give 12 volts. I removed the electric start so didn't require the starting amperage., and it was easier to pack...

Re: 1997 Rebuild gone bad

Were the starter/lead new or overhauled when you installed them? The symptoms you describe sound like you would associate with the starter connection having corrosion or a poor connection! Or the fibre insulating washers or plastic insulating sleeve on the starter connection bolt missing/degraded. ...

Re: The RD400 drag bike

I'm booked for Saturday, Al, Tony if you want to stay over let me know. I'm about 25 miles from Elvington That's a kind offer, thanks. Wife is probably joining me, and the journey from Kent is only about two hours so I'll think about travel nearer the time and let you know. Anyone know what time si...

That might be fun, do you have to pre-book or just turn up?

Re: Air filter

It's worth a try. What's the cost of the filter you found versus a complete replacement?
Also, is there any information about the particulate size it will filter out?

Re: Supersprox Stealth 42T rear sprocket

For what it's worth supersprox are always my choice of sprockets, for the Storm, SP2 and now I have one in my Aprilia.
They last well and are light.
You can get an anodised aluminium sprocket that's lighter but they don't last long.

Doesn't hurt that they look good, too.

Re: vtr project

Good spot. No mention of mileage, and too much damage to be put back on the road economically. Might make a reasonable track bike, though.
But not at the asking price.

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today

Today I ordered the tools, oil and seals I need for the Ohlins fork rebuild on my Aprilia. Although they're semi-automatic electronic forks the rebuild looks to be the same as normal mechanical ones apart from unplugging the loom connector at the fork cap. They're not nitrogen-filled, so at least th...

Re: fuel warning light

No, it doesn't light up unless the fuel level is low.
Just strap a spare can if fuel on the back and ride til it stops, then you'll know.
