Re: How many posts do I need

You can always look up a local member and then talk about it.

I've had a couple of rides with CountryMick of this parish. A fine upstanding gentleman. Mind you, my pustular yellow one looked very sick compared to his bright shiny red throbbing one.

There you go, one more drivel post from me....

Re: Tango'd Storm

From what I can see there's no thermostat in the oil system just a pressure relief valve (presumably for very cold weather). The oil spends quite a bit of time in contact with engine cases exposed to the outside air plus other parts exposed to the coolant system. I wonder how effective and necessary...

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today

Fitted a "Loobman" chain oiler and (keep it quiet, don't tell anyone) the standard end cans. I have to get it quiet for a test I'm doing. I bought "DB killers" at great expense but the things don't fit unless I take the cans apart and attack everything with a grinder. I found som...

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today

New chain and sprockets fitted today. Thought I'd be clever and rivet the chain on the bike. Save taking a load of bits off. Took at least three times as long. Getting the side plate started on the pins was the most difficult bit. Getting the plate on at the correct clearance was a pig as well. So m...

Half way though new chain and sprockets.

Spent most of the time cleaning years of oily gunk from everthing. Tempted now to disassemble the swingarm linkages. I'm sure they need some tlc...

Re: OP Storm SW Scotland mk3 Aug 7th, 8th, 9th 2015

Good weekend and great to meet you guys. Things I learnt. 1. If you have a dodgy chain, change it before you leave. 2. Don't try and keep up with Al for more than a mile or two. 3. Don't try and look prettier than Pete. 4. Don't try and eat more than Fabio. 5. Don't try and drink more than Ady. 6. G...

Ahhh, Kentish names. Mac will be familiar with Trottescliffe (pronounced trosley) and Trosley (pronounced trosley).

Wrotham (pronounced rootam) and Meopham (pronounced meppam).

The list is endless....

Re: Motorcycle breakdown/recovery service?

I used LV Britannia Rescue on Wednesday. Flat rear tyre. The guy on the phone was irritating. Asked the same set of questions about 5 times. He seemed a bit dim. Said one hour. 1 1/4 hours later the truck turns up. From then on it was excellent. Special clamp attachment for front wheel. Soft tie-dow...
