Re: Scotland 2020 31st July till 2nd August

I'm having second thoughts about this. I may or may not come. If I do it will be in a car with the bike on a trailer and a tent and suitable comforts, squidgy beds, bottles of scotch, pillows, cashew nuts, pipe and slippers and all the other essentials incompatible with travelling on two wheels.

I'm afraid the Gentlemen of Tynedale have cancelled this trip. Whomever goes, please have fun for us.

Re: Sneaky conniving government bar steward spy

Just want to point out that this is just the underlying subsystems that will allow an app to work, so unless you've got an app installed it does nothing. The government app has failed because its incompatibility, and it rips all your contacts and contact info for whatever use they see fit. I for on...

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today

(It's not a superbike, that's the RSV4, mines just the naked one). I liked being able to play with the fuelling on the SP2 on the pc, and could easily have dialled in some corrections if Aprilia allowed access. Plenty of options out there to adjust the mapping. Also, as said, max HP at full throttl...

I've got a manual tool that came with a load of nuts. Cost about £25 from memory.

Re: Day Running Lights - Who uses them?

My personal philosophy is to assume I am invisible to everyone around me. NEVER assume someone has seen you. Although it can't prevent this from happening - That was me on my way to work last April stopped at a set of traffic lights. Hmmm, I've avoided that before now. Mirrors... quick sp...

Re: Day Running Lights - Who uses them?

I'm not convinced all this lights on/hi-viz stuff is as effective as people like to think (think Tiger camoflage). It may even give you a false sense of security. A mate of mine was t-boned off his Blood Bike not so long ago. And he was lit up like a hi-viz christmas tree. My personal philosophy is ...

Re: What bore is the carbs on a VTR 1000?

Thanks Ian  Gotta luv a bit of carbon and blended in with all the modern trick bits that's got to be a bit of a weapon    I've only ridden small 2 strokers, nothing bigger than an old X7, I'd love to try something like that. Especially with modern tires, frame and suspend...

Re: Sad news today...

I met him once. As a small child we were travelling en famille on the British Air Ferries from Lydd to Le Touquet with the car in the hold of the plane. You really did that sort of thing in those days. I tried to chat with this man in the seat behind me as he looked absolutely terrified. I was final...

This is a fantastic thread. I am SO impressed with the people who have the skills and persistence to do this sort of stuff. Not VTR related here is another similar thread on another forum. https://www.apriliaforum.com/forums/showthread.php?357624-Rs500 Mating a Suzuki RG500 and an Aprilia RS250. Fo...
