I just removed the standard terminals from the connector shell, put heatshrink over the exposed copper to stop any risk of short circuiting and then put them onto the correct pins on the r6 R/R and fitte...

I've found the cause but not the solution - there are 3 wires on a connector which is pushed onto the bulb holder. The bulb holder should have 3 metal tabs onto which the connector locates. I swapped bulbs which confirmed the problem is not the bulb. The wires in the connector look a bit green/corroded so this may be the problem. I'll have a look during the week.

I'm also a bit nervous about cutting the fairing.........presume it is mandatory if you fit VFR bars (other than master cylinders)?

Don't really want the cost and hassle of a respray - are the fairings white under the paint, or moulded roughly in the colour they are sprayed in? Mine is a black one.
