Home PC not playing some video links

Post by Pete.L »

OK, I'm going mad now and I haven't much hair left to pull out.
If I play any vid using windows media player ie msn sites it's fine but if I tag onto a Youtube vid it won't play and I get a message saying I either have Java script switched off or I need to update to the latest Flash player.
Well, my java is enabled and I got the latest flash player, I even checked all my security settings against my laptop which will play both and I can't find any differences. As a last resort I've even reset my internet explorer back to the default setting and still no vid.
Anyone got any ideas as to where to go next?

Cheers

Fixed it!

The probelm lied with the flash player installation. I was getting a message saying the installation had completed successfully but really it hadn't.
Once I had added Adobe to my trusted sites list it all worked as planned
I hate f@ckin Vista....what a waste of money

You can still stipulate XP with a new PC.
I was born with nothing and I still have most of it left.

Don't I know it Timbo
My own fault though. I thought at the time it was the way to go and most of the bugs would soon be ironed out. Instead they finished work on sevice pack 3 for XP and finally fixed that one instead.
I've also heard , just after purchasing it that Dell flatley refused to role it out on it's own because of all the problems and made them supply XP to any customer that wanted it.
Oh well, maybe they'll get it sorted just in time for the roleout of the next new format
