WINDOWS XP HOME EDITION

Post by sirch345 »

How many of you guys on here use "outlook express" its provided by Wandoo. I activated it not realising it would take all my emails and any future emails from my Wanadoo email site inbox. Is there anyway I can stop this,
any help would be very much appreciated,
cheers Chris.

It's the standard mail client provided free by microsoft, not by wanadoo. Just keeping you right there.

What do you mean it's taking your e-mails? I think I know what your getting at but could you expand a bit more to take some of the guess work out please?
Rich.

Hi Cupasoop,
Yes I think you are right about the mail client being provided free by Microsoft, although the home page says it is provided by wandoo it probably means the emails it displays is provided by wanadoo if you can understand that.

Now to try and expand on the rest.
Basically as soon as I activated "outlook express email" which I wish I had not, when I went onto my original wanadoo email site I found that all my mail that was in the inbox had vanished. I later found that it had transfered itself to the outlook express, now it looks like every new email I get sent to my wandoo site stays there for a short while before it transfers to outlook express which I don't want it to do.
I hope that helps a bit more,
cheers Chris.

Hi,

In outlook express, go to

Tools > Accounts

You should have one listed for "wannadoo"

Click on it to highlight it and then click "properties" on the right.

Go to the "advanced" tab and near the bottom is a section titled "delivery"

Click the check box that says "leave a copy on the server"

This will then leave all your emails on the wandaoo server so they will still be in your online inbox as well as your outlook inbox.

Hope it helps.

Many thanks Rich and Craig for your help and support, i'm now pleased to say my emails are where I want them to be.

I'll tell you something now, I actually telephoned Wanadoo tecnical support on the Saturday of this gone weekend and the guy I talked to could not give me the information that you gave me Craig! so thanks once again, I am now once more a happy bunny
cheers Chris.
